About Geek Squad
Geek Squad provides a range of repair, installation, and setup services for various technology at over 1,100 Best Buy stores. Their offerings include computer and tablet repair, TV and home theater repair, car stereo and GPS installation, cell phone repair, and home appliance repair. They can handle most makes and models, regardless of where they were purchased, and help customers maximize their technology use. Customer experiences vary. One reviewer reported a negative experience with an iPhone 14 back glass replacement, suggesting a possible misdiagnosis or upsell attempt. In contrast, another customer praised a knowledgeable technician for assisting with data recovery from a hacker and expressed appreciation for the service despite challenges with a third-party platform. Additionally, a repeat customer highlighted their positive experience with a technician who repaired their dishwasher, noting his informative and friendly approach. Overall, while experiences differ, many customers recognize the value of Geek Squad's services and the expertise of their technicians.
When I called to make an appointment geek squad, mentioned that they do back glass replacement for the iPhone 14 for $189. Once I arrived the geek squad technician mentioned the device was unrepairable and that I would need a full replacement costing over $700. I took it to another shop who was able to replace the back glass with no issues. I’m not sure if it was a misdiagnosis or if it was an upsell opportunity.
These morons are more interested in flipping their long hair and trying to look pretty than taking care of the customers who pay their wages. I'd be surprised if they even know how to spell customer service.
Very patient and knowledgeable Tech, “John”, helped me remove files from a hacker and also attempted to assist me in appealing the suspension of my Facebook and Instagram accounts. I would have posted 5 Stars, but we never found a way to accomplish this task due to Meta Online Help being a Hámster Wheel to Nowhere, so it wasn’t John’s fault. Meta has decided to focus on Artificial Intelligence and to begin removing accounts, regardless of whether they are business accounts or hold 20 years of personal family photos. Zuckerberg doesn’t give 2 “Zucks” about anything but his own profit. Users be dam_ed. Geek Squad, however, is still GREAT!
