“I decided to wait until I completed 5 classes before reviewing so I’d have a better overall picture of things- I did not anticipate how quickly that would happen! My only experience with martial arts (besides a couple months of Tae Kwon Do classes as a kid) was high school wrestling…but that was 20 years ago. Now, as a busy professional and out of shape dad, I was looking for something to jumpstart my fitness journey. A friend brought me along for a trial class. I wasn’t planning on signing up that day, but ended up leaving with a fresh new Gi, a 2x/week membership, and a rejuvenated desire to put my health first. As someone who works with his hands and cannot afford to get injured, I was extremely appreciative of Professor Joe and Coach Travis’ commitment to everyone’s safety. The emphasis on teaching is apparent, and the seasoned vets are called upon to help the noobs in an enthusiastic, helpful, and nonjudgmental way. The instant community vibe is apparent, and I’m looking forward to seeing where this takes me.“
