I’ve been a client here since 2020. Although I no longer come as regularly due to relocating, I’ve always trusted the quality of service, which is why this experience was so disappointing.

During my visit yesterday, the shampoo assistant was extremely rough while rinsing out my relaxer. She aggressively scrubbed my scalp, which caused irritation and discomfort. During the rinse application, she also hit my head with the bottle, which was careless and unacceptable, especially during a chemical service.

At no point was I asked if I was okay or if the pressure was too much. The experience felt rushed and inattentive, and I did not feel cared for as a client.

Look at Yelp, suggesting businesses for me to review! Haha! I thought long and hard before writing this review and I'm choosing to share my truth. I'm thankful for the Yelp platform and less restrictions on character count, so authentic detailed reviews can be collated for consumers to reference and make their own opinion on whether or not to support a business. I'll start by saying that Lisa's given me a silk press YEARS ago pre-pandemic while working at another salon. I really enjoyed that experience and she even asked if I'd be interested in doing some hair modeling with her. I never heard back, then fast forward to 2021-2022, I went to schedule an appointment that was cancelled a few days before noting that she wasn't taking any new clients at the time, though I mentioned that technically, I wasn't a new client to her. When it comes to patronizing someone's business, especially entrepreneurship, I don't take that lightly, so I didn't intend on utilizing her again. However, we have mutual contacts that shared with me some details that could've impacted the service provided and encouraged me to try her again in 2023. It was right around a very stressful period in my life where I made the decision to cut my hair into a tapered cut and color right before an international trip. I completed a consultation with Lisa and provided her inspiration photos, as requested. I initially asked for a rod set style, but Lisa harped on the time required and suggested to do a wash and go for the color appointment and schedule a second appointment as a twist out right before my trip. I agreed and before I knew it, my first appointment date had come. Lisa made some initial requests of me that should've been a sign for me to seek another stylist like requesting that I wash and blow dry my hair before the appointment. Other stylists have done that during the appointment especially when doing a color service, but soon realized that she needed that done ahead of time more so to accommodate her considering any 1-3 clients can be in her unit at a time not including herself and her assistant. At the end of my first appointment, there was an initial shock, this being my first experience cutting/coloring my hair. I noticed the color was giving more highlights than color, but I wanted to see it in the natural sunlight and see how I felt the next day. Also, I was keeping in mind that a second appointment was already scheduled. The day following I text Lisa explaining that the color wasn't what was discussed from the inspo photos and asked if we could add more in the next appointment. She agreed and noted that she intentionally went light on the color given it was my first experience. So fast forward again to the second appointment. Another request to wash and blow dry my hair along with moving my appointment time to again, accommodate her. I did and proceeded with my second appointment. At the end, to my surprise she quotes me a higher price than was booked noting that it was for the additional color, but none of that was mentioned when I sent the photos. I was very confused and wasn't sure how to articulate myself at the time, but was visibly upset. I paid the higher price with my hair still twisted, left, then went back asking for further clarification on the charge. I continued to say that if I'm going to pay that amount, I'd prefer to have the twists taken out to which she mentioned normally would've been an additional charge on top of what shows on her booking site, but she'd go ahead and untwist them. I'll reiterate that I'm still visibly upset, but Lisa recorded content of my hair for Instagram page and I left. After reflecting that evening, I submitted a review on her StyleSeat regarding my experience only to be told the next day from the same mutual contact that she called another one of her clients complaining about me and making unprofessional remarks. She also responded to my review basically saying that it's inaccurate against the man

Drove 6.5 hours for a wedding hair consultation and Lisa did not even show. Called 30 min past my appt time and lied and said she had COVID. Very disappointing, dishonest and unprofessional.
