I have always had wonderful experiences with the actual hospital at Mayo Clinic, but the primary care office is a completely different story. Since moving to Florida this is the only hospital I have been to.

Dealing with this clinic has become an ongoing source of frustration due to a severe lack of communication and accessibility. The biggest issue is the inability to speak directly with your actual provider or their immediate team. Phone calls are routinely routed to an external partner or a centralized nursing line. These representatives act merely as note-takers; they cannot answer specific questions, expedite requests, or move processes forward.

Kristen has been my primary care provider for over 10 years. She is very knowledgeable, compassionate and thorough. She explains her decision making, but also values my input, thoughts and decisions on my own medical care. I have never considered switching to another provider since I started seeing her and I highly recommend Kristen as a PCP!

Even as an established patient, it takes an act of God to get an appointment or message response via phone or portal. If you need to see a specialist, you might as well call the funeral home. I've been on a wait list for months and if they ever call me back it will be several more months for the appointment. So far, I've gone outside of Mayo for a dermatologist and cardiologist, both of whom I got appointments as a new patient in 1-2 weeks. I'm truly disappointed in Mayo.
