Originally this was a 1 star review. My main complaint was the sauna not working and the disgusting conditions of the facilities. Hot tub pool lockers sauna all smelled like urine. Since my original review I have went by this location 2 times in the past few weeks and noticed the conditions have improved. They built a thing to protect the sauna heater. The area/location is still in an inconvenient/bad spot so youll never get 5 stars out of me unless yall move to san marco or reopen university but yall have at least earned 2 more stars by trying to improve. Lakewood/University location closing. AARGH! No need to join. This is second location to close within year. Rumors are floating around that Kernan Blvd location closing by years end.

I absolutely love working out at LA Fitness. The energy is always great, the gym is clean, and there is plenty of equipment so I can get a full workout in without stress. What really makes this place stand out is the staff Zubin, Big Z, Dalton, and everyone there are always friendly, helpful, and welcoming. They make the environment feel positive and motivating every time I walk in. If you are looking for a gym where you actually enjoy showing up, this is the spot!
