DO NOT USE THEM! I have had Penguin Air since 2016 when they installed my Trane unit. I have had it maintained every 6 months since then and haven’t had much trouble with the unit except with replacement of new coils and 8lbs of refrigerant in 2020. I have noticed that in the last few years the company’s philosophy has changed and I feel like they do not put the customer first. They no longer have staff answering phone calls, instead it’s routed to an answering service. It’s very difficult to try and get a call back from someone knowledgeable. This is especially fustrating, considering what has been happening with my unit. This past September the tech came out for routine maintenance and noticed the unit was down a pound of refrigerant and he charged me $119 for it. On January 24, 2026 the unit wasn’t cooling correctly and when checked it was down 4lbs of refrigerant so the tech added this and suggested a dye test which he did. On February 5, 2026 he came out to check on the dye test and didn’t notice any leaks and then he came out a 2nd time on February 12 and noticed a tiny leak and suggested a pressure test. By now, my suspicion had been peaked because I had a gut feeling I was being taken advantage of. Thankfully, I had called Sunset Air to come out for a second opinion. Sunset Air arrived this morning (February 13) and within SECONDS, Tyler spotted the refrigerant leak. I believe that Penguin Air was trying to get additional money from me and they prolonged everything just so that my unit was out of warranty, which expired on 2/4/2026. Sunset Air suggested 2 options which I am in total agreement with and needless to say I will move forward with Sunset Air.

My father hired a tech to service his AC unit over the summer when he was out of town. Technician told him that he required a new compressor and a new AC contactor for a total cost of $3200. He did not believe that was the issue (unit is only 6-years old). When he came back - he hired a different company and they indicated that the compressor was fine and that it had instead been unplugged and that the issue was only the AC contactor. Repair bill was instead $504. As no one else has serviced the unit - our speculation is that the original tech unplugged the compressor in order to over charge (if not this, then a serious lack of competence in the ability to service the unit). We do not trust this company and would advise any other potential customers to be extra cautious.

It's hard to find a trusted AC company, in Florida. But I found one and I've been very happy with Penguin, both for maintenance and repair response. Their tech, Dustin, has been my tech and he makes it a great experience. Knowledgeable, professional and great customer service. Ty, Dustin.

Marcello's the man! Called them at 7:45 A.M. Marcello here by 8:30 A.M, and by 9:00 AM cold air again!! No pressure, but I even asked and signed up for a service plan. Great job!

We obtained our new AC unit mid to late 2021. We have had so many issues with our unit. Penguin serviced it once and charged us. The unit was not fixed and they refused to refund and/or fix the issue. We had our attorney call and was able to obtain a refund. However, at first I was told that I would only be refunded if I took down my original review. I informed him that is extortion. However, after they finally decided to refund us. I graciously took down my original review. It is now 2024, the unit wasn’t installed correctly which is going to cost us a lot of money. We are without air conditioning waiting on a new appointment with a new company. Poor customer service and they lack professionalism. Would never recommend this company. Very disappointed!!!!

So my unit broke down on Friday Glenn and his team came out and did all they could to repair but it was not worth it. My unit wws 10 years old with multiple defects. Penguin air was able to install a new unit 1st thing Monday morning. My family and I couldn't be more pleased with their professionalism and efficiency. Thanks Penguin air.
