My son has been using this location for almost 4 years to help with his medical needs.

While the nurses that work for family first are good, I do have a problem with the high turnover rate in the office.

In the past two years, there have been four directors of nursing, five directors of operations, along with at least 10 new people in office. We used to have great communication from the office, up until 2023/2024 when I saw the transition of staff that wasn't better then what they used to have.

There has been a lack of communication from members of the office over the past 2 years. I used to see call backs with former office members if there was an issue with nursing. The past few rotations of staff haven't been as good when it comes to providing information when it comes to nursing, and other information. They did a horrible job of calling you back, and would sometimes take days to call back.

I trust the nurses, but I do not trust the office staff to provide what we need.

Update: The new office staff is back to their old ways of not communicating with us when it comes to scheduling changes. I do not trust this office to communicate anything going on with nursing other then the after hours staff. Look elsewhere when trying to find someone to take care of your child.

    Rating of the nurses: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Rating of the office: 0 ⭐

If I could give the office zero stars I would.

10 star review. ☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆ First, let me start with this. My daughter Heaven is an extremely special needs medically fragile child, young lady now. She has been with Family First Homecare since they first opened the first office. The owner Doug Drabina is an absolutely rare, compassionate wonderful, man with a huge heart for Heaven right through the end. He is always there for me communication wise as well as in other ways. He always listens to me Doug is an amazing passionate person who truly cares about his clients Jennifer Strawder Lang is right up there for me and my daughter Heaven as well. The nurses Heaven has permanently are a 10 🌟☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆ Godsend including that they make sure they keep her safety and happiness of my child & family first. no pun intended They have been with us through the good and the bad times the roller coaster rides we have fought valiantly through. The on-call after hours manager Melissa is the bomb. They listen to all of your concerns. Also about How you feeling about a nurses care. or If a problem sadly arises they communicate with me Ensuring my daughter's safety & happiness comes first. Sometimes Sadly when you have a child who becomes ventilator dependent. it's become a little bit harder to find the right nurse to care for my daughter overnights. They do their best to staff your shifts. Night shifts were harder for us but the days were always filled with a one of a kind, amazing empathetic, strong, Compassionate, rare loving loving nurse named Lilly. For years now she Has diligently been working with my daughter Heaven. She kept me on the right path. Two other nurses lavette and Marcus they were in the battlefield for Heaven too and they never gave up or gave in regardless of the circumstances. In honesty I have been through a few nursing agency's and this one is by far the best. Thank you so much for your service and continued care through the many years. 10 stars again ✨️ ☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆

This company has faulty equipment when in the home. The tablets malfunction constantly. When on call is notified they are unable to assist. Have been downright rude. Not to mention when follow up was provided to the main office the issue was not fixed. Communication with on call doesn’t get reported to the office and is often times left undocumented. They lack to provide support for there nurses. They often have staffing issues that leave the patients without the care they need. They also do not communicate in a timely manner when a patient will loose coverage for services, thus leaving said nurse with no hours. Then they scramble to try and keep their employee by giving them other shifts, often times in areas that are inconvenient due to geographical location to the nurse. They are flexible with their schedule, as you can make your own within the confines of patients need for care. However, in all they are not recommended if you seek stability for gainful employment.

As a seasoned Nurse of over 16 years, I've worked in several different areas of healthcare. As such, I believe it speaks volumes to be able to say that I have found my "home" with Family First Homecare! I get a great deal of job satisfaction getting to work with the same amazing patient and family one day after another. It may sound boring to some people, but my patient's family has opened their hearts and their homes to me, so it rarely feels like work...it's more like I'm just taking care of a family member. No company is always perfect all the time, but I get a great deal of support from my Director of Nursing (DON), who I know will always have my back, and I get to make my own schedule. Those are 2 aspects of this company that are unique from nearly any other nursing job that I've ever had. If you're even the slightest bit curious about whether Pediatric Home Health might be a good fit for you, come talk to us and see what you think. You won't regret it! ❤️

This is a great company to work for, that truly cares about their staff and clients. I had to take a personal leave of absence, they were gracious, and not only allowed my leave, but checked on me during that time. 5 stars!

My name is JoAnne and I am a pediatric home care nurse. I am proud to say thatI have worked with Family First Home-care (Fort Myers) since November 2018. Having had a child with extensive medical needs I know firsthand the importance of good medical care. I know how difficult it is to bring your child home from the hospital and place them in the hands of a stranger in your home. With Family First Home-care you can rest assured that your nurses are professional and well trained. I myself have received training through Family First Home-care that I don’t recall any other employer in my 35 years of nursing offering. My experience with Family Fist Home-care has exceeded expectations. Not only have I had the pleasure of working with beautiful little Angels and their families, but the team of nurses that I have worked with have been exceptional, as well as our Administrators, Director of Nursing and office staff. Everyone is regarded as a critical part of this team. Shout out to my favorite office staffer, Mallory, thanks for all you do for our nurses and patients!!

Family first, but David Joseph field recruiter doesn’t hesitate to invade your weekend time off with your family, with unsolicited text messages and job offers. Maybe not respecting people and their boundaries is part of the reason you’re so desperate for help.
