“I've had my share of curly haircuts over the years with varying results. I've gotten dry cuts, wet hair cuts, lopsided haircuts, too-short haircuts (and the resulting frizzy helmet hair), you name it. After my last disaster cut, I made it a point to search high and low for the best stylist. I was lucky to find Yulia through her IG (@CurlybyYulia) and loved her client's before and afters. I will say this without reservation: my haircut with Yulia has been by far the best! She LISTENS to the client, understands their likes/dislikes, and works her magic. The best way to describe the hair cut is: this is your hair at its best! I didn't leave there with a haircut that I can't style and maintain at home. She also taught me all the do's and don't's for best styling. I am thrilled I found Yulia and know she'll be my go-to stylist from now on. As a bonus, everyone at the salon was nice (from staff to other patrons). Another review mentioned that Yulia had to cancel their appointment (with little notice). The same happened to me. Once Yulia was back and feeling better, the salon worked to schedule me in very quickly. I genuinely appreciated that. Well worth the wait!“

“Book with Anna!! This is my second time back and she continues to absolutely kill it! The first time I came in, I really wanted curtain bangs, but I’d always been told they might not work with my hair type. I appreciate professional input, but I also knew I was willing to put in the effort to style them and really wanted to give it a try. Anna listened, understood exactly what I was looking for, and delivered! She even gave me tips on how to style them for my specific hair, and as a bonus—they look amazing with my natural texture. On top of being knowledgeable, Anna is incredibly friendly and makes the whole experience fun. Highly recommend!“

“My first visit at SJS was a few weeks ago and I meant to write this review sooner. My appointment was with Yaz and let me just say she is one of the most professional, kind and beautiful people, I have ever met. Walking in, I had highlighted darkish blonde hair, thick and down to my waist. I wanted it gingerish-auburn. My first try was a complete fail with another stylist (NOT AT THIS SALON) and I had to get color oops to remove it. I had gone in first for a consultation with Yaz a few weeks before and she knew exactly what I wanted and what she needed to do. I am picky and she was completely okay with that. She set me up for what I was to expect and what I needed to do. She and I discussed the process so there were no surprises and I walked out of there SO HAPPY. I swear each time I wash it the color just keeps getting better and better. Yaz did an absolute BEAUTIFUL job and she is such a doll. I could have spent all day in there with her. I absolutely hate getting my hair done but this felt special and I felt like I was spoiling myself. Everyone in there is so kind and spoke to me like I had been going there for years. I discovered the wonderful owner Arjeta as I posted it on Facebook that I’m looking for a good Hair Stylist who doesn’t charge an arm and a leg if possible. She responded right away with her website and links to social media, which was very helpful to get an idea about her professionalism. “Robbin provided hair and makeup for my entire bridal party nine years ago. Everyone loved their look so much that when another special event came up we just had to track her down. The fact that we all requested the same look she had done for us previously speaks for itself. We looked and felt amazing and had the best time. Robbin and her staff are fun and friendly but also professional. They arrived before we did and transformed the space into our very own glam studio. I come from a Dominican family, and like many Latinas, I grew up in a culture where curly hair was seen as something to “fix.” The infamous “pelo malo” label followed me for years. Straight hair was the beauty standard, and anything else was considered unkempt or unacceptable.

“I began going to Hair Color Design by Nestor in Fort Lauderdale on the recommendation of a neighbor, and I’m so pleased to share this review after my second visit. I came to the salon with very dark hair I realized it wasn’t the best color for me—and my hair didn’t feel as healthy as it should.

My stylist, Nestor, immediately noticed that a lighter color would suit me better. He also pointed out that the previous dye used on my hair had a metallic quality that needed refining. He took the time and care to bring out a new, softer tone that feels and looks much more natural.
