About The Plaza Resort & Spa
The Plaza Resort & Spa is a mixed bag of experiences, with some highlights and significant drawbacks. While the spa is consistently praised for its quality, other areas of the hotel have faced issues. Check-in times can be lengthy, and parking requires additional payment. Elevators have been known to be slow, and hidden fees abound. The pool and restaurant have also received negative reviews, with the pool often being closed and the restaurant serving overcooked and expensive food. Despite these issues, some guests have reported clean and well-maintained rooms, and the hotel's staff has been praised for their friendliness. However, a recent stay has been marred by short staffing and COVID-related issues, leading to poor service and disappointing experiences. With some areas of the hotel showing signs of wear and tear, particularly after Hurricane Ian, guests may want to exercise caution before booking a stay.
We were booked on the 4th floor, the entire floor smelled of mildew it contained trash, furniture, beds, moldy rugs and carpet . We had to walk through this and inhale the moldy mildewy air. The staff seemed embarrassed and sorry, but yet they still allowed people to book rooms and refuse refunds. I explained that we were asthmatic and it was unsafe. I was told "But your room is dry and okay.". Seriously, we have to walk through that environment. I have pictures .
