“I first heard about Chuluota Veterinary Hospital when my Husband and I were looking to adopt 2 Dogs from Poodle and Pooch Rescue of Florida in 2015. I quickly learned that Dr. Zern and his Staff are the BEST Veterinary Clinic in Central Florida! We travel 40 miles to see Dr. Zern and so does my Mom with her Dog as well. We have had lots of experience over the years with multiple Dogs at other Clinics and none of them even come close to the expert care and knowledge Dr. Zern and his Staff are in their field. We are always greeted by a warm and welcoming Staff. The Clinic is clean, modern, and well-organized, creating a reassuring environment for Pet owners. Dr. Zern and all Technicians are clearly passionate about animals. During our visit, they handle our Dogs gently and make sure they are comfortable throughout the process. Dr. Zern thoroughly examines our Dogs and explains the diagnosis in detail, answers all of our questions patiently, and provides various treatment options. He also ensures that we understand how to follow up with care at home; which we really appreciated. We couldn't be happier with the service and care provided. One aspect that stands out is the Clinic calls to check how our Babies are doing and provide any additional guidance, if needed. Whether it's for a routine check-up or a more serious issue, I trust Dr. Zern and his Staff completely with our Pet's health and well-being.“

We brought our dog, Betty Boop, to Animal Cancer Care Clinic during one of the most stressful times a pet owner can face, and I can’t say enough good things about the care we received from start to finish.

For context: Betty was diagnosed by our local vet with a Stage 2 soft tissue sarcoma in her rear paw. Our vet actually recommended this clinic (and has even used them for her own dog), which gave us confidence from day one. I loved how quick they responded to my initial inquiry.

Our surgeon, Dr. Tammi Ruddle, was absolutely incredible: knowledgeable, personable, calm, and truly reassuring. She explained everything clearly, answered every question, and made us feel like Betty was in the best possible hands (because she was).

Our initial consultation was with Dr. Shannon O’Day, who was thorough, straightforward, and extremely informative. She gave us exactly what we needed to make an informed decision for Betty’s care — and when I asked what she would do in our situation, she actually answered. That honesty meant a lot, more than she probably knows.

The entire staff was wonderful: kind, patient, and genuinely caring. What stood out most was the follow-through, they did everything they said they would do. Updates, communication, follow-ups… that level of consistency and professionalism is rare these days.

I also want to share our outcome: Betty’s margins came back clean, and we were told they believe they removed all of the cancer in that area. I know outcomes can vary and nothing is guaranteed, but I truly believe this result was possible because of this team’s expertise, planning, and care.

Lastly, a note: veterinary oncology is emotional, high-stakes, and scary, and that stress can color how experiences are perceived. From our perspective, this clinic delivered exactly what you hope for: expertise, compassion, and clear communication.

“Dr Van Lue and his staff are amazing ! My 10 year old Springer had two torn cruciate ligaments. Dr Van Lue helped me decide between surgery or more conservative treatment. No pressure either way. He explained the mechanics of the injury thoroughly. Mac ( my dog) is recovering nicely. I only wish all my vets were this thorough!“

“I took my cat to Shaffer Animal Hospital for a general check up. I had no wait time, I was brought into a room as soon as I walked through the door. I had not worked with Dr Whitt and her assistant previously and found them kind, knowledgeable, caring and personable. They did not try to push anything on me or rush me. They listened to my concerns and the latest history of my cat. I hope I don't have to go back anytime soon obviously. I do reccommend this office especially Dr Whitt.
