Dr. Lavengco and the entire staff were very kind and empathetic for our early morning emergency visit for my fur baby. They were quick with bringing him in and diagnosis, and very patient and understanding with me when I had to make THE toughest decision I’ve ever made to send him to heaven. I cannot thank them enough for the care they gave him and peace of mind they gave me knowing it was the best thing to do for my baby to ease his suffering.

The warmest kindest environment i have ever been to for my fur babies. The nurses are amazing, the front desk people are amazing, the doctor are absolutely fantastic. They're so understanding and empathetic, you can tell they care about the people and the animals. I plan to keep visiting and donate whatever i can here. My fur daughter Mya needed surgery on her right paw.
Mrs. Megan Bello suggested that I listen to Doc Cade's opinion...Arrived and was surprised by the smiles and polite welcome from the reception team.
Megan was super kind waiting for me to introduce me to the vet despite the seriousness and urgency
A wave of tranquility warmed us... Dr Cade was super attentive... made us understand the necessary procedures and everything made sense.
Mya underwent surgery and is recovering.
We are confident that she will be fine soon.
It is necessary to point out that the prices are fair, and the hospital is super clean.
    Gratitude is the feeling.
If I could, I would offer 10 stars to this fantastic team.
My special thanks to Megan, my family and I are blessed by you.

Six months ago, my wife and I brought our 9 year old Maltese Lilly to CAH for chronic digestive issues. Over the years we met with several other veterinarians and specialists and had temporary relief but never long-term relief. In late 2022 we met with Dr. Lavengco and he reviewed Lilly's file and did an extensive examination of Lilly and then prescribed a protocol focused on reducing inflammation. We started with a short treatment of medicine combined with a major change in Lilly's diet.
The medical protocol and change in diet wasn't easy, but Dr. Lavegco helped us every step of the way....his staff was always
extremely helpful and Dr. Lavengco always was quick to call us to address concerns. It's been 6 months now and for the past 4 months Lilly is back to a happy, playful active Maltese.
Dr. Lavengco, my wife and I want to thank you and your staff for giving us our Lilly back!

    Update on Lilly
It's now October 2024, and under Dr. Lavengco's care, Lilly has continued to thrive. At 11 years old, she is playing like a puppy, eating well and gaining weight! We credit Lilly's continuous improvement to Dr. Lavengco's approach to monitoring Lilly on a regular basis, making small changes as needed, and he and his staff always being available when we have a question or concern.

Thanks again to Dr. Lavengco and the entire staff at Central Animal Hospital, Boca Raton.

    BEWARE: (vet was Shannon Leonard)
    *
On sunday 9/28 my cat exhibited signs of uti. Our normal vet was closed so we decided to take him here. The doctor came in and examined him verrrry lightly (checked his gums and listened to heart and lungs felt his bladder said it was a little hard, no temperature check nothing else) took all but 90 seconds then she starts in with a bunch of words that half of don’t even make sense, with a lot of “uhms “ and very sales pitchy feeling.
They Immediately Jumped to worse case scenario, all or nothing.
“He needs hospitalization, catheter, ultra sound, blood work, xray “ “and if that all looks good then we will treat with medication. Let me have my closer assistant (the closer) read the price sheet because she’s better at that then I am “
    *
The assistant (who I am calling the sales “closer”) saying things like “we need to check his urinary bladder for a urinalysis “ Like … is there another kind of bladder beside one that holds the urine?

We decided to trust our gut and ask for medication to treat uti first instead of opting for the 3,000$ bill (since the was showing no other signs, eating playing everything very normal-which they didn’t even ask any investigative question ) and they hit me with the “well just so you know the medicine won’t take effect for like 3 days and this could turn lethal in a matter of a couple of hours, so here sign this document saying we’re not responsible for his death”
And then when explaining the meds (which they jumbled up that portion as well) the girl says here’s the antibiotics for his (air quotes) uti. SHE LITERALLY MADE AIR QUOTES AT ME. they all but rolled their eyes a t my denial of their sales pitch.

Let me say this…I am AWARE of the potential of severity of this HOWEVER there’s a way to go about things if you truly feel that’s what happening. Say something like “we can start with the ultrasound and see if we see some crystals or a stone indicating a blockage, or take some blood to see his levels and go from there” And to have some bedside manner wouldn’t hurt either. Having compassion goes a long way in gaining trust.
But they like to use scare tactics, an all or nothing approach.
I am grateful they were open on Sunday to prescribe my cat medication and their medication wasn’t outrageously priced.
    * I took him to our regular vet the next day and they did an ultrasound on him and said there was no blockage which we knew since he peed a couple hours later, and no crystals in his bladder.
    *
This isn’t the first time we have ran into this situation where the behavior of the bets would swear they were on a commission based pay scale, or maybe they get a bonus.
Just beware when visiting here. They try to take advantage of people vulnerability.
