About Koa Foot Massage

Koa Foot Massage offers a professional and expert service at reasonable prices. The clean areas provide a comfortable environment for a strong and effective massage. Although the communication may be limited, the skilled owner delivers a thorough treatment. While not a relaxing experience, the massage can be intense and may be painful at times. However, it is effective in relieving pain and improving condition. Customers have praised the owner's ability to work out muscle tension and relieve headaches, though some have mentioned challenges with communication and scheduling. The massage is described as "no-frills bodywork" that can be uncomfortable but very effective. The owner's strong technique and deep tissue work are highly valued, though some customers have noted issues with the owner's untrimmed nails. Overall, Koa Foot Massage is a worthwhile option for those seeking a strong, effective massage at a reasonable price.

Yes, communication can be difficult and scheduling weird, but this man has given me some of the best massages of my life. It's not a Valentine's Day, spa experience with pan flutes playing in the background as you enjoy a eucalyptus face towel. This is no-frills bodywork. It can be uncomfortable in the moment, but you'll walk out feeling like the Tin Man walking out of the Jiffy Lube. While verbal communication is a challenge, I've found that for me it's not been all that necessary (beyond booking, of course). I usually indicate where I'm carrying tension and how I'd like it treated (deep tissue, sports etc), but I think he just suffers through this part. Once he lays hands on you he knows where to go and what to do. On one occasion I had lingering tension in my neck after a bike crash. After working the neck and shoulders he followed the tension into my cranial muscles and relieved the backburner headache I'd been suffering since my crash. I've not had a problem scheduling but I can see this being difficult. He speaks little English, doesn't appear to have any help, and just wants to work out your trigger points. He also may not appreciate the level of Customer Service we're accustomed to in DC. Again, it's not the Four Seasons. Service up until you get onto the table can be a little unpolished, but the bodywork is Very effective (i.e. uncomfortable in the moment) and the price can't be beat. I don't always go to Koa for massage (sometimes I want me that eucalyptus towel) but i've had probably 500 massages and his are among the very best.

This is one of the massage therapists I rely on for serious muscle tension and to relieve tension headaches. I would give him a 5/5 but I have one consistent complaint...his nails. They are untrimmed and dig rather mercilessly into your skin to the point of tears which is further exacerbated by how I strong he is. I've tried to discuss it with him but there is a bit of a language barrier. Otherwise he will work out whatever knots, aches and pains you have plus give you a rejuvenating stretch from your neck to your toes. An almost perfect experience if you require serious deep tissue but the nails are very much a challenge.

Exactly what I expected based on the reviews. No frills but the BEST full body massage to work out all the kinks. Will definitely be back and can't wait to try the foot massage as well.
