I went to Gaylord after getting COVID 19 and had Guillian-Barre Syndrome. I was unable to use both arms and both legs. After rehabilitation there I gained the use of both arms and my left leg and partial use of my right leg. I am going back as an outpatient for therapy and my right leg is almost back to normal. I couldn't have gotten better care anywhere else. Gaylord employees are the best in the business. I recommend Gaylord to everyone.
Anyone who talks or says anything wrong about this rehab facility is 100% wrong!I'm so happy that i went to the best rehab in America.A new life, a happy life, foreva! thank you :) :)
My experience while at Gaylord was excellent for most of my two and a half month stay. I arrived in mid-October after coming to after my nine hour fifth back surgery and discovering I was paralyzed from my waist to my toes. I lay in bed for all of October and much of November wondering if I would ever sit, stand or walk again unaided! While the occupational and physical therapists were outstanding to work with every week day, Gaylord is more than just therapy. Their nursing staff, housekeeping, food service and medical teams also make this place the gold standard for spinal cord injuries. My insurance company kicked me out after three weeks and sent me to another rehab center that was a major step down from Gaylord. I returned after my seventh back surgery in November and didn't leave until mid-January.I will have fond memories of many of these fine people for the rest of my life. I came home in mid-January and continue to work with physical therapy and am now starting back at the YMCA going slowly to restart and do use a cane when out of my place. None of this would have been possible had it not been for the Gaylord Rehabilitation Center of Wallingford!
