Great Taekwondo class! The instructors are supportive and skilled, and they have really helped my son grow in confidence and courage. He has improved so much since joining. Unfortunately, his Taekwondo journey has to pause because we’re moving out, but I highly recommend this class!

My daughter, Yashika Singh, began her Taekwondo journey at Master Na’s Traditional Martial Arts (TMA) in Stamford, Connecticut, when she was just five years old. What started as a simple activity to build focus and confidence soon became a lifelong passion that continues to shape her character, discipline, and spirit. From her earliest white belt days to her current achievement as a Black Belt Candidate, Yashika’s growth has been remarkable. The TMA philosophy — “Building a stronger Stamford community through Taekwondo” — truly reflects what we’ve seen in her personal development. The Kids Martial Arts program at TMA emphasizes confidence, focus, and respect, and under Master Na’s expert guidance, Yashika has absorbed those lessons wholeheartedly. Even after our family moved to Monroe, CT, quite a distance from Stamford, Yashika’s commitment never wavered. Despite the long commute, she continues to insist on attending her classes at TMA. This dedication speaks volumes about her deep connection with her instructors, fellow students, and the values of Taekwondo she has come to cherish. Her enthusiasm to stay part of TMA shows how much the school has become more than just a training center—it’s truly her second home. Through years of practice, Yashika has learned perseverance, humility, and leadership. We’ve watched her develop a positive attitude, a helping nature, and a growing sense of self-discipline. She now encourages younger students, helps her peers, and demonstrates maturity far beyond her age. These qualities reflect not just physical training but the mental and emotional growth that Taekwondo at TMA instills in every student. We are deeply grateful to Master Na and the entire TMA family for their mentorship, patience, and encouragement. The influence of Taekwondo is evident in every aspect of Yashika’s life—her confidence, focus, and kindness toward others. As proud parents, we wish Yashika the very best for her upcoming Black Belt Test in November 2025. No matter the result, her dedication, resilience, and love for Taekwondo already make her a true champion in our eyes. — Proud Parent

Initially beginning my first taekwondo class was an entirely new and different experience for me. I was a little shy wondering how it would start out and even felt worried about doing something wrong. At first I felt it was mainly about making sure you had good body fitness and remember the forms or master kicks they taught you. However, now as a current black belt candidate of TMA, I came to understand that it's about much more than that. Before I began taekwondo I wasn't really that aware of what I needed to improve or pay attention to, such as focus, attitude, physical health, self-defense, respectfulness, and discipline. I actually feel that if it weren't for taekwondo and Master Na, I wouldn't have known the importance of building these qualities to slowly improve my growth and become a better person. There were some tough obstacles I had to face throughout my journey, but now I'm grateful and confident that I was able to overcome them, and it helped me figure out where I needed to improve. Throughout my first year or two, I was learning the basic curriculum I needed to know and getting used to how the classes would run. Now I'm continuing to practice and improve myself as I'm gradually training throughout my years. Master Na and the instructors have always been guiding us throughout the way and pushing us to realize our potential. Without them, I wouldn't have seen the benefits of martial arts to this day, and I'm looking forward to continuing to improve my growth and become a better version of myself than I am today. :) ✨

Great place for kids to learn self-defense and work out with discipline and confidence and the most important value respect. My daughter has been there for a few years and she really enjoyed her class. Over the years she built more confidence because it's physically and mentally challenging, but she gets better with the practice and self-controll of her emotions. She learned that with a good attitude, commitment, and hard work, everything is possible. Since she practiced this discipline, she focused more easily and learned to be patient and responsible. Be on time and be prepared have been a great lesson for her daily routine. Plus she gets better physical condition with flexibility and strength. Their team is very nice creating an environment of frienship to help her in journey of martial arts with patient to improve over the years.

Very grateful to Master Na and his team for not only training my son but for teaching good dedication and develop best attitude! we always had issues with our visa status and had move to multiple places because of which we tried lot of other schools and neither of them came even close to TMA! Swaraj had to take multiple breaks even at TMA but whole Team received him lot of positivity and encouraged him in every way .Our kid is growing up as a good mannered , strong and kind human being and definitely TMA played a important role in that .Swaraj came a long way already from the time he started and is still excited to learn new forms and tricks. We are very happy and proud that we choose this school and I highly recommend Master Na to all!

My son became a member of the Stamford TMA community two years ago, and it has been a transformative experience for him. We have observed notable improvements in his confidence and patience when faced with challenges. Additionally, he has developed a greater appreciation for maintaining a healthier lifestyle and greatly enjoys attending his sessions. Most importantly, he takes pride in his own progress.

I started TMA around 2 years ago unaware how much taekwondo would change my life. Initially I started taekwondo strictly to be more active. I wasn’t expecting to fall in love with the sport entirely. On my first day I wasn’t sure if I would be able to keep up but as I walked onto the mat I felt a new wave of confidence. As I was challenged physically, I also was challenged mentally. At first learning kicks seemed extremely difficult but frequent stretching and continuing to show up made me work harder. In no time I was capable of not only learning the kicks but excelling. Taekwondo helped bestowed discipline in my everyday life pushing me to always show up no matter how hard the situation. 2 years later I am a black belt candidate, looking forward to be awarded my belt. Not only for honor but to represent hard work pays off.

We signed our son up for Master Na's when he was 7 years old. He immediately connected with Master Na, and his instructors. This was the first sport that our son truly focused on. He worked his way through "little tigers," then the regular belt colors. He is now up for black-belt testing at the age of 11. We have really enjoyed watching our son progress through the years, and to this day, he loves coming to class and continues to improve in many areas of his life. All of the instructors are top-notch. they are very attentive, and professional. Even when everything shut down during COVID, Master Na and his team found ways to stay connected and continue classes online. His dedication and passion has had a major impact on our son.

The journey of Taekwondo has been a rewarding experience our son, Enrique. When he first began 3 years ago, he just wanted to attend classes and become more active. Then, he attended rank promotions and obtained his first yellow and orange belts, and a sense of pride appeared behind his eyes. We could see that he was practicing his motions at home and he knew his schedule as to when he was supposed to attend classes. However, we believe the turning point of his dedication was being asked to be part of the Black Belt Club. At this point, he felt a sense of family and the curriculum became harder, pushing his endurance and physical strength. He did cry and felt that his muscles were not strong enough. However, his peers were there to support him and he felt like part of the group, no matter the color of the belt. We have also noticed a change in confidence, inside and outside of Taekwondo. In school, Enrique participates in class and becomes the lead presenter during projects. In soccer, he communicates with his teammates about where opponents are on the field. And we see this confidence shine through during breaking week. He shows confidence now to break the adult boards and even when he struggles, he knows he can always try again during the next class and never give up. All in all, Enrique’s journey from no belt to now a black belt candidate has been immeasurable. The experiences he has gained and the skills he has developed are palpable inside the walls of Taekwondo as well as his classroom, on athletic fields and at home. He has built endurance, strength, and life skills of responsibility and confidence. Thank you, Master Na, for providing these important skills and life lessons to our son.
