Price was important, and quality and reputation even more so. My conclusion: The Okna brand windows were my top choice for quality, workmanship, design and competitive price; and Action Windows and Siding of West Hartford was the company I wanted to do business with. Straightforward and honest presentations by both Lenny (manager) and Greg (salesperson). I decided to include replacement of front and back doors in the project, and Greg assisted me in choosing from their excellent selection of quality products. My choice was later confirmed by excellent installation in every room in my house, and by stellar customer service, including completion of paperwork required to receive my energy rebate due to Okna's Energy Star rating.“

“Chris and his team installed vinyl siding, new windows, and a door at our house. Along with the great work, Chris and his team were easy to work with and made the project go as smoothly as possible.“

“Hired AWS for window replacement. Out of the three companies we considered, they were the most professional. Not the cheapest nor the most expensive, but the only company to provide an in-home demo of the actual windows we were purchasing. With such a big home improvement project, you want to feel confident that you made the right choice. Shortly after signing the paperwork, they sent someone out to measure. Then we waited quite a while for the job to be scheduled. Unfortunately, installation occurred during a weeklong heat wave. Yet the guys rarely complained, and spent four full days installing our windows. If I have any complaints, it's about their after sale customer service. The day our installation wrapped up, I noticed a slash in one of the screens, and was assured they'd order a replacement and have it sent to us. Three months later we still had no screen, so my husband and I started calling. Every call was treated as a brand new sales call and no one seemed to know anything about our replacement screen. Finally, someone came out and made us a new screen onsite. However, he re-screened it too tightly, and the frame warped. More phone calls and more confusion on their part made us feel like we were in the twilight zone. Ultimately, we took the frame to their office and they fixed it there, which was an additional inconvenience. Other than these few snafus, we're happy with the work.“

“Dave Ramdowski came out and told me what needed to be done. He was the only contractor that came out to diagnose the problem properly and made the leaky flat roof not leak. It has been since September of 2022 and not a leak. He did not try and scare me like another roofer did. Highly recommended.Service: Roof repair“

“I hired Reichelt Construction Contracting in September 2024 to remove a load-bearing wall between my kitchen and dining room. My husband and I do most home improvement work ourselves, and have had bad experiences in the past with contractors which makes us a little wary when trusting someone else with our home, but I'm happy to say that Zach and his team were incredibly pleasant to work with and did efficient, high-quality work!

A different contractor I got a quote from before contacting RCC told me they wouldn't need to take a permit out, which I knew wasn't true and raised a red flag. Zach assured me he would follow the correct process by taking out a building permit and making sure the beam was perfectly calculated by an engineer to support the weight of the second floor. I knew I was in good hands, secure in the knowledge that all procedures and safety measures were followed.

Steve and Justin did great work the day of the job. I was impressed by how quickly they completed the whole project (less than a day!) while never raising any concerns about safety or quality. They built temporary walls to support the second floor before removing the studs of the load-bearing wall and then lifted the heavy load-bearing beam into place. All of their measurements were precise, and they made sure to clean up thoroughly when they were done.

Zach checked in several times throughout the day and then maintained excellent communication after the beam was in place, working with me to resolve a couple minor issues raised by the town inspector. He went above and beyond to quickly address any small concerns I had and made sure my husband and I were 100% satisfied with the job.

“I used Cathy and her team for replacing the front door to our home in West Hartford. We are extremely pleased with the end result and Bartlett was a pleasure to work with. Cathy visited my property twice for discussion of options and pricing. She is very straight forward and no nonsense, and offered good suggestions. The door quoted was a Provia and although expensive, is the first thing visitors see when coming to our home. It was ultimately more than worth the money. Darek the master carpenter, came once to carefully measure the existing door, lights and woodwork. Ultimately we needed a custom size door built at the factory. His measurements were so accurate, the new door fit perfectly first try in the opening when stood up. Darek performed the removal and new install and is truly a talented professional. We felt lucky to have his skill, and although I'm not a carpenter, I could tell via his work he is excellent. The finished entryway to our home is now amazing and went from rotten to beautiful. Per Cathy's suggestion, I immediately had the surrounding millwork and wood work refinished and painted long before the door install. Again a sage suggestion and saves me money from not losing that to the elements. I highly recommend these professionals.“
