240 East St, Plainville“If you’re looking for a great BJJ gym with no corporate, money-first vibe, a real family atmosphere, open mat every day, and an awesome coach with a very solid curriculum, check out PMA.
I moved to Connecticut about 8 months ago and tried four different BJJ gyms around the area.
PMA is easily the best one. The environment, the coaching, and the culture are exactly what I was looking for.“

130 S Main St, Cheshire“My daughter started in July and absolutely loves JC Karate!! Master JC is so special and has an incredible way of making learning and personal growth fun! The other instructions we have had the pleasure of working with are also great and bring their own added value to my child’s practice. The monthly “homework” is a great way to bring conversation surrounding the values that the students are taught in karate into the home. I have loved having these thoughtful conversations with my daughter and now having mutually shared language to bring/reinforce these awesome values into our home. My daughter also has a new found sense of confidence and sense of belongingness, which is invaluable! We cannot recommend JC Karate enough!“

The instructors are outstanding, and they really focus on teaching respect, discipline, and confidence. We’ve seen such great growth in my son, both in martial arts skills and everyday life. The classes are welcoming and well-run. Highly recommend!“

166 Queen St, Southington“Master Oh is the best! You can see and feel that he really cares for his students, especially young kids. Yes, he is tough but he is also caring at the same time. I've known Master Oh for the past 7 years or so and he is the same as the first day I met him. Look no further, if you live in the area, this is the best martial art school.“
5:30AM - 8:30PM
37 W Center St, Southington“My teenage daughter and a group of her friends (tweens and teens) attended a two hour self defense class yesterday that taught amazing self awareness and defense skills. Tony, the instructor created a private class for us accommodating our busy schedule. It was creative and active and really drove the message home to the kids without terrifying them. It was such a great way to get the kids to realize they need to get their faces unglued from phones and have an awareness of their surroundings. I found Extreme Karate through a google search. We totally lucked out! Highly recommend this business for self defense classes.“

“At LMA, my sons are having a great time! The instructors at LMA solidify the foundation we have been building with our kids. They’re learning to never give up and that good things come with patience and effort. There is no coddling at LMA, instead the kids are met with understanding and empathy when it’s appropriate. I appreciate the stern attitudes of the instructors which highlights how boundaries are beneficial for children’s growth and development into society. Our sons have brought these life lessons into their home life, encouraging each other when things get difficult, offering a high five and an “awesome job” to each other when they accomplish something. I would recommend this to anyone who is looking to raise respectable, productive and positive men and women. Thank you LMA!“
