I had been interested in getting back into studying martial arts for a loooong time. Yet I have had reservations and apprehensions in the schools/gyms that I've looked into previously. I've been looking for a school (and most importantly) with a teaching philosophy that aligns with; where I am in my life, what I hope to gain, a pace that fits my lifestyle, teaches SAFELY, and most importantly.. A school that teaches with intention, the foundational building blocks of the art and provides the "Why am I doing this?" answers. Yet when I met the owner of the school, Greg Wood I knew I'd found what I was looking for. Greg's philosophy and approach to teaching is exactly what I was looking for. Greg listened more than he spoke. He asked my goals, and listened to me instead of trying to "sell" me on the school/art. Greg made me feel that I was being "heard", and that made me realize that I was at the right place. I would recommend this school to anyone looking to better their fitness, learn in a structured environment Jiu Jitsu, and as an added bonus, a "family" atmosphere.. Best decision I've made, and just wish I found this school and Greg Wood sooner!
I have shared the mat as an instructor with Greg at BJJ Globetrotters Camps. I was impressed not only with the content but the delivery his instruction. In particular I use a variety of his sky walker pass in my Jiu Jitsu since attending his class in Iceland.
As a fellow gym owner in the area, I can say that PMA is awesome. The people are super welcoming, the space is beautiful, and the training is too notch. No egos and all smiles!
