This review is only about the hotel and my great experience at the hotel. I am not giving a bad review like other reviewers based on the entire neighborhood. I do agree that the neighborhood is a bit on the undesirable side with all the young thugs, noise at night and the vagrants lounging around in public. This I feel is not the hotels fault and they shouldn't be having their name dragged down because of it. If people have issues then they should be contacting law enforcement.

I stayed here for a couple of nights cause I wanted to check out a few of the free museums and sample some New Haven pizza. I think the hotel itself is in a great location where it is close to all points of interest and the staff here is absolutely wonderful. Kaylee checked me in and she very friendly and helpful. My room on the 11th floor was very clean and spacious with a nice view of the city from my window. My bed was comfortable and their was plenty of hot water. No issues there. The lobby is a bit old fashioned, but to me it was charming.

Self parking is $25 and valet is $30 a day. It is a bit steep, but that is pretty standard nowadays since street parking is pretty hard to find. The garage is a bit dark, but you can get around. The hotel has a fitness center on the 3rd floor and a lovely restaurant/bar on the 19th. In the lobby they also have a small café/gift shop and the ladies behind the counter were super nice.

Overall, I really enjoyed my stay and I look forward to staying here again in the future. I wasn't going to let the negativity of other reviewers scare me from staying here...I am a Brooklyn girl with thick skin and I am used to far worse where I live.

The room was clean and comfortable, they put out food dishes for my cat, which was such a thoughtful touch. Evening room service was delicious, and breakfast was delightful, and the view of the city was breathtaking. Every staff member I spoke with was kind and polite, it was a very relaxing stay.

The wifi is terrible. To connect I had to call the technical team. The AC is not functional. They had to call some engineers to fix it. Overall, not worth the price at all.

The hotel is clean and the staff are great. The location is close to Yale but due to the clubs right across the street the noise at night on the weekends make it impossible to sleep. It is by far the noisest hotel I have ever stayed at. At 2am the police drive up and blare their horns clearing out the party goers. Also, it is not always safe to walk in that section until you get to the Yale campus. On my next trip I am staying 10 minutes out and driving in.

The hotel itself is clean and the service is good. It is what lurks outside that is very concerning. Do not recommend staying here ever!
If you are coming here to stay for weekend from Thursday to Sunday, be prepared not to get any sleep. New Haven City does nothing regarding the “Dirt Bikes” and ATVs using Temple Street as a raceway. First they are illegal to be on the streets, 2nd the riders are a bunch of teenage thugs racing up the streets doing whatever they want, cutting in front of cars, roaring their mufflers. Then you have cars that come through with the radios blasting. The electric scooter people are no better, cutting in front of cars and going the wrong way on the streets. Not to mention all the young thugs just hanging out yelling, screaming and getting into fights. This goes on until 3-3:30 in the morning.
Just a block over you have the park that has addicts and homeless people, so sad. Then add to that the “pot” stores at the end of the block. If you stood there long enough you probably would get high!
Hey New Haven City, get your downtown city back under control. You have a lot of wonderful places in your city, lots of history, the museums and restaurants, Yale university, though we will not be coming back or recommend.

We have just stayed at the Omni Hotel in New Haven, on two separate occasions and would definitely return again. It was a family holiday.
Great location for Yale and New Haven.
Reception staff were always friendly and welcoming. Concierge, and Eugene especially was amazing. We really enjoyed meeting and chatting with him. He is a star and a diamond.
The staff in the hotel’s coffee shop ‘Morsel’s’ were also friendly and always accommodating. In the coffee shop you can also purchase some Yale and New Haven souvenirs and gifts. The hotel has some great books on old New Haven in the Lobby. Really interesting. Lovely hotel lobby to sit in with a coffee and just chill.

Great experience at Omni New Haven this week. Staff consistently went above and beyond to make sure my stay exceeded expectations. I was in the area for a single night to try some New Haven Pizza spots, but I will absolutely be back to visit this hotel specifically. Many thanks to everyone- from valet, to front desk, room service to housekeeping- who worked so hard to make our reservation extra special!!

I wished I read the past review carefully when I booked the hotel - all the complaints about the midnight noise in the street are real! We stayed in this hotel from Friday night to Sunday noon. The first night was fine, we heard the noise of motorcycles and they stopped around midnight. However, the second night was horrific - the noise was extremely loud until 2:30am. People were yelling and talking in the street even those bars and restaurants had closed several hours ago, we were 2 seconds away from leaving the hotel then. The restaurants and bars are good, we would come back if we didn’t have the noise issue.
