DO NOT GO! MONEY HUNGRY !! I am new to the area. I had a very special senior boy nearing the end of life .
I went here because it was the most affordable initial intake .
I brought him in for Labored breathing and a hard belly
The Dr came in . Checked his lungs. Said they were clear ..said his stomach felt ok. ordered blood work.
Calls back says blood work looks good . We were unable to complete all of it it so I was scheduled to come back .
I bring him back a week later because now he has diarrhea and the labor breathing has gotten worse . They said well now he might need xrays. And didnt finish the original test.
Another week goes by and I brought him back for the xrays . Because mind you Ive already paid a few hundred dollars .
At this point they took him and went in the back . I begged them to be gentle with him. The xrays were done in less than 5 minutes . She informed me he was full of fluid. And a possible mass . She said she could try and drain to help but was very clear her opinion was euthanasia. I agree to drain . I wanted to bring him home. And have him pass around family. His other fur siblings . After drainage they them tell me its a tumor .
    And that hes struggling.
I asked to see my baby and they said it should only be a few more minutes and didnt let me go back.
While they are now haggling for a bill for over $600 .. my cat dies on their table . They were so busy trying to charge me for everything they could think of I was more distracted trying to get the money that I didn't even get to say goodbye.
He died . And they tried to tell me everything dies .
Then they stood in the doorway to make sure I wouldn't leave without paying them $300 for the visits and xrays that should have been done weeks ago .
They put him in an old blanket and an old box . And sent me on my way .
    Awful . Awful Awful

Milford is fortunate to have so many veterinarian options. We have tried most of them. In our experience, Companion has provided the most hospitable and amenable service. Highly recommended.

Been coming here 5+ years. Had a horrendous experience this morning that mirrored similar experiences my family and I have had in the past here. The lack of empathy (especially from the brunette receptionist) was heartbreaking. I was inquiring about whether it is appropriate to bring in my cat after eating cooked chicken bones and vomiting. I wanted to know the level of danger. I even brought the bone with me. This is not the first time they REFUSED to consult to any degree (even whether to bring him in or not!) without an appointment. It comes off that they prioritize money over the love and care of animals. It is difficult to send your pets somewhere that has a widespread lack of compassion.
I am a doctor myself and I would never treat a patient in such a disregarding manner. Even if I can’t give a conclusive answer about prognosis, I would at least advise whether it’s appropriate to come in!! I was left to rely on Google answers to inform me what to do/watch out for. Fortunately, a different vet consulted with me online and gave me advice without even needing to come in.
The doctors at Companion are great at their jobs in the sense that one of my cats had a successful surgery there. With that being said, even the doctor will treat my cats with an aloof attitude and an air of disregard. This was the final straw.

So the doctors and techs were great. Very open and clean. I was not a fan of being told $415 over the phone for 3 8 week old puppies to get their exams, dhpp vaccines and dewormer but got charged $740 for a $70 fecal exam for each puppy which i did not ask for (i did not bring in any poop samples for them to test) and a lepto vaccine i did not ask for either. They also said they showed me an invoice before taking us back but I did not see anything before they brought me and my puppies back, only confirmed the appointment. They also take your pet out of the room for their vaccines (my normal vet does everything in front of you) and I heard each of my puppies screaming from the back room as I was in the lobby waiting for them to be brought out. I personally will not be going back nor will be recommending this place to anyone I know.
