Renegade Fitness of Groton is a family-owned gym with a good atmosphere and friendly, fantastic staff. It offers a great variety of equipment, including treadmills and bikes, and has exceptional classes like yoga. However, reviews note significant maintenance issues. Much equipment is old, with broken machines like Jacobs ladder and stair climbers left unfixed for months. The air conditioning has also been broken for years, making it sweltering in summer. The experience is described as a hit or miss due to these problems with upkeep.
I switched to this gym thinking it would be the “best” we have around here. Stick to Planet Fitness. The tanning bed is so old at this location & I tried to work with it but they don’t replace anything. Jacobs ladder been broke , stair climber broke…. A lot of old equipment but also thier is some good equipment so it’s always a hit or miss.
Friendly staff. The yoga class on Tuesday night is a blast. Good mixture of stretching, core exercises, and balancing. The gym has a lot of treadmills, bikes, etc. The issues with this place is they don't have AC. It's been broken for two years and they refuse to fix it. That's fine in the winter, but it's sweltering in the summer. On the women's only part of the gym the equipment is pretty old. Certain machines over there have been broken for months and they have never been looked at. The gym has a good atmosphere, good classes (when they aren't being canceled), but they need to start maintaining, fixing, and updating their equipment.
