“Several years ago, I had the immense pleasure of working with Jonathan Knight of JM Contracting Service, LLC in 2018 for a complete kitchen renovation in my historic Guilford home built in 1848. It involved demolition of the old kitchen and creating an entirely new kitchen which included replacing a window requiring approval from the Guilford Historic Committee as well as new plumbing and electrical. Natural gas had to be brought from the exterior of the house through the basement to the kitchen so I could have a gas stove. The following year he completed a partial bathroom renovation with all the qualities mentioned in this review as well.

Throughout the entire process Jonathan demonstrated that he is a highly skilled professional who is extremely knowledgeable and top notch in the construction business. He was dependable and responsive, completing the project on schedule and on budget. He is very conscientious and exact, keeping in mind at all times that the end product should be stellar. He works with and supervises his sub-contractors to ensure that their work meets his high expectations as well.

Jonathan does the work himself, employing an assistant only if needed. However, he knows and recommends others in the field, such as a painter, kitchen cabinet companies, stone companies for countertops/tile, appliance companies, a electrical company, and a plumbing company who are excellent.

When questions or issues arose, Jonathan solved them using a positive, can-do attitude. He is very considerate of the homeowner and in my case was able to allow me to have a refrigerator during the entire process. He cleaned up every day before he left.

It is very rare to find someone like Jonathan. He is not only highly capable and competent, but trustworthy and has a strong sense of ethics, which means he is the kind of person that does the right thing. Jonathan was recommended to me by a friend, who said she had used him for many years and that he was the best. I could not agree with her more. Over the years, I have had experience with home construction/renovations ranging from hiring an architect to design a home which was built near Washington, DC to various other renovation projects for a home in the Seattle area.

I would highly recommend Jonathan for any kind of home construction or renovation with hesitation.“

“Ray and company did a beautiful job on our soon to be family room. He hung crown molding, painted the ceiling painted the book shelves, and walls. Not only did he do an awesome job one the crown molding he's a perfectionist when it comes to cutting in the wall paint with the crown molding and floor molding. Not only did he do a phenomenal job on the walls he was as neat as a pin. He's very punctual with his appointment, commits to his work attests to his professionalism. His pricing is quite reasonable. I'm having him quote on other projects that need doing, so yes I would hire him again.“
