380 Washington Ave #1, North Haven“Had a great experience. We rented a saxophone, it initially did ok but then the teacher noticed some issues because the pads were leaking. We brought it back and they were able to repair it and it played great. We plan on going back for our future rentals.“

72 Washington Ave, North Haven“AMAZING!!! The curriculum, the vibe, the people, both students and staff, are all just incredible. Our kids have grown so much and have a blast learning new music, and performing with their peers. We can’t say enough about North Haven School of Rock. So grateful to have become a part of their program!“

473 Washington Ave, North Haven“It's a great little local shop, with great service and a friendly staff. Hands on, care and attention makes you feel like a valued customer. Not like corporate run stores, much more of a personalized experience in helping you find what you're looking for and not just what's available on the shelf. Very fair pricing, very reasonable deals. They offer lessons too, supporting music for all generations. Places like this are getting harder and harder to find, and this is a very important thing to keep in the community..... Your local music store“

100 Audubon St, New Haven“I am a participant in Rachel Balaban’s “Dance for PD” Zoom class and Clare Byrne’s Dance for PD” in- person dance class in Mystic. I supplement these weekly classes with 2-3 You-Tube “Dance for PD” classes each week, typically the classes sponsored by the New Orleans Ballet Foundation.
These classes have helped me tremendously to address the physical and social challenges of Parkinson’s. Physically, the classes have been particularly good at helping me to maintain my balance and avoid falls. If I start to lose my balance, I just “dance my way out” of the potential fall. I have only fallen once in the last 3-4 years (and that was really a stumble going from a hard wood to a carpeted floor). I owe this good fall record to all of my dance classes.
The classes have helped me to avoid the isolation that comes from being less active and involved. I enjoy the informal conversation with the other participants in my in-person class and Rachel has done a fabulous job in facilitating discussions in the weekly Zoom class so that it feels like we are meeting in person.
Both Rachel and Clare are skilled dance instructors and also enthusiastic and fun people. At Thanksgiving when I was asked what I am most grateful for this year, I said my Dance for Parkinson’s classes and the wonderful instructors.“
