Extremely disappointing and concerning experience at Battiston’s Dry Cleaners.
I dropped off a cashmere sweater for professional cleaning. When I picked it up, the garment had a strong, persistent chemical odor. Within hours of contact with the item, I developed a severe skin reaction on my arms and neck—redness and weeping lesions. I went to urgent care, where I was diagnosed with acute contact dermatitis. I was shocked to learn that the owners of Battiston's of Avon have been linked to serious environmental violations. Waste haulers were caught illegally dumping used filters and liquids containing perchloroethene into the Farmington River. Toxic chemical waste in a public waterway is completely unacceptable. I strongly recommend choosing a different dry cleaner that follows proper hazardous waste disposal rules.

My expectations for Battiston’s of Avon were not met. The dry cleaning quality left much to be desired, and the customer service experience was unhelpful and frustrating. On top of everything, my credit card was overcharged. When I tried to resolve the billing issue directly with the owner, I received no response whatsoever. This forced me to file a dispute with Bank of America, which ultimately decided in my favor.
