Practicing Pilates with Megan helps my whole body feel better, reduces inflammation and helps alleviate pain in my hip. I walk out feeling amazing every time I practice at Functional Strength Pilates. The teachers are incredibly knowledgeable, and care for each person’s individual needs not only in private lessons, but in classes too. I love the small studio format and am grateful for Desiree and her amazing team.
I have been attending classes at Functional Strength Pilates now for about 6 months. I am so happy that I found this studio as my experiences here have wonderful. I have worked with almost every instructor and have enjoyed them all. Each has their own unique approach, are super personable/friendly and take pride in their training. The class sizes are small enabling lots of individualized feedback and a no-rush atmosphere. Good variety of class options for equipment and mat, and a wonderful community to boot. My strength is returning and my balance is improving. Many thanks to Desiree and her amazing team!
This is a bright, clean, minimalist space in Lone Tree. Desiree, the owner, is charming. There are Reformer machines (I LOVE them!) as well as mat classes. Also something chair and something pole, with which I am currently unfamiliar. I took Pilates at both Greenwood Athletic and TruFit, and there were no chairs or poles. So this will be interesting. I'm working with Jesse, who is currently a trainee. He's awesome. Very kind, patient, and knowledgeable. He explains every move and which muscles should be engaged, and corrects me if I hunch my shoulders, which I do, alas. We'll be doing mat exercises, which I have so far successfully avoided, and also the chair and pole at some point. The vibe here is casual and friendly. I've been here twice, and the clientele is mostly happy and relaxed women d'un certain âge. Today there was an elderly gentleman working on a special Reformer. The equipment is clearly new and well-maintained. Jesse wiped down the barrel and Reformer as soon as I was finished. A sign on the door asks that you remove your shoes or boots upon entry, so as to "keep the winter out." There are benches and chairs, rubber boot mats, and coatracks. Bare feet are preferred for Pilates, but some people were wearing regular or yoga socks. The floor is concrete and rather cold, although there are rugs next to the Reformers. There are cubes for your purse while you exercise. A very pleasant place to enjoy Pilates :)
