They not only spent a great deal of time with us, they also compassionately and professionally addressed all of our concerns in a comprehensive manner. We have always felt valued and respected with every visit to this wonderful practice, with all staff members treating us like we are the most important part of their day, regardless of the reason we have brought in our beloved pet. “Can't recommend this place enough. I drive by probably six different vets to get to this one, and it's well worth going out of my way to bring my animals here.
For starters, my senior dog was diagnosed with lung tumors from the vet nearest my house, and given only a few days left to live. Devastated, I made the most of every day I had left, but needed to brace for the inevitable. I called my vet and asked for euth and cremation costs and if they offered clay paw prints. That vets' prices were 5x more than this place. A couple days later, my sweet girl passed in her sleep and I was able to bring her body to this vet for cremation, which was so UNBELIEVABLY more reasonably priced, but they include the clay paw for free! When her clay paw was ready for pickup, they called me and texted me, that it was ready for pickup, that they'd keep it safe for me, said their hearts are with me during this time and sent their condolences for my loss. Absolutely over the top service, and empathy. When I picked up her clay paw, they were so sincere and kind and sympathetic. Anyone could've just told me it's ready for pickup, here you go, and left it at that. But you can feel their hearts are fully in everything they do and say.

Next, my goats. I brought my entire herd here for vaccines and castration, and they were so kind and knowledgeable, answered every question I had and handled my little munchkins with care. I was able to watch the entire operation and ask questions if I had any.

I can't emphasize enough how much I appreciate everything they've said and done in just the past couple weeks I've been bringing my animals here. Highly recommend!“

“Pros: easy access from i70, plenty of parking, seating for guests, toys for children, drink fridge, yellow ribbons for nervous animals, nice exam rooms, reasonable boarding for cats and dogs. Not pushy on putting your pet on 18 different medications and willing to work with you to make your pet comfortable

“I was faced with the toughest decision a pet parent has to make; end of life for my dog. Thor was a huge dog and lived a great life, and I wanted to give him all my love. These folks are amazing, they helped me with Thor's transition. Thor's last sight was me staring into his eyes while he left this World. My last words were to find my other dogs and I would see them all soon. Thank you Francis Veterinary Hospital, without your all compassionate and professional help my doggo would have suffered. You are my hero, each and every one of you!!“

“My young greyhound is experiencing some confusing & concerning spine issues. At a loss for next steps, I called 32 vet clinics just to make sure I fully explore all options to choose the most cost-effective route for treatment. “What started as an awful experience, quickly turned to such a positive based on the care and service that Elk Meadow was able to provide. I cannot say enough great things about this place. They received our phone call as our dog had experienced a laceration to his leg and after learning other vets in the area would not offer any assistance, even with a simple gauze pad, wrap, or bandaid of any kind so that our dog would stop profusely bleeding in the car, (i.e. Grand animal Hospital in Fraser) we found Elk Meadow and couldn’t have been happier. “To whom it may concern,
We have been taking our dogs and cats to Green Mountain Animal Hospital for at least 10 years.  Dr. Garms is an AMAZING vet and person.  Unfortunately we had to recently put our 19 year old female calico cat down.  We came in on a Wednesday to have our cat looked at to see what we could do to help her in any way.  Dr. Garms was not available, but Dr. Cody was.  Dr. Cody was beyond helpful and informative.  Our cat was getting around, but barely.  One question that was very much on our kid's minds, (18 and 16 years old), was if our cat was in pain.  Being a cat lover like Dr. Cody is, he said definitely.  This was mainly due to how our cat was barely walking etc.  So this was something that reassured our kids that end of life for our cat was the best avenue.  Because we wanted all of our family to be present for this event, Dr. Cody came in on a Saturday, on his day off, to make sure everything was done respectfully, especially since it was he who we initially saw.  Dr. Cody did NOT have to come in on his day off, but he did.  Putting our cat down was a very respectful, informative and quiet experience.  Emotional too but Dr. Cody helped us and our kids immensely during this time.  I highly recommend this facility.  Nothing has ever been pushed on us as far as care for our animals.  Thank you to everyone at Green Mountain Hospital during this difficult time for my family.
