I can’t recommend this practice to pet owners. When this office was operated under the name “All About Paws” on Evans Ave in Denver, the vet told us our 11 year old Shih Tzu had stage 3 mammary cancer and they “weren’t able to get clean margins” after surgically removing the tumor, and our dog “had 6 months left to live”. My husband and I were sobbing with our dog in the appointment room. Then, the vet went back to check on something and comes back 5 minutes later and says that she read the report wrong and she’s sorry, our dog will be fine and they removed all of the cancerous tumor/cells. About 1.5 years later, we took her in to see the vet due to a dizzy/fainting/falling over spell that our pet had a few times in a couple of days. They diagnosed it as vertigo. 3 months later, our dog suddenly went into respiratory distress and VEG vet ER found she had a large tumor on her lungs, fluid in her lungs, a heart murmur and possible heart failure. I don’t think these conditions developed over the course of only 3 months, as the tumor was very large. This practice should have done a more thorough examination for my pet and this could have been mitigated or at least we would have known something was wrong and watched for warning signs.

I’m very disappointed with my experience. I brought my cat in for a routine exam and pre-dental bloodwork, which was required to get her teeth cleaned. They took her to the back to draw blood and I could hear her crying and struggling the entire time, which was incredibly upsetting.

After about 15 minutes, I was told they had tried four times and still couldn’t get a sample. In my opinion, after two unsuccessful attempts, they should have stopped rather than continuing while she was clearly distressed. Only then did they recommend using gabapentin and bringing her back. I’ve now wasted money on an exam that didn’t even accomplish what I needed.

When my cat was returned to me, both of her back legs were completely soaked in alcohol and she reeked of it. I had to wipe her down once we got home and she is now limping around.

It’s frustrating that sedation or calming options weren’t considered sooner as this could have spared her a lot of stress. I won’t be returning and would encourage others not to bring their pets to this vet.

Probably my favorite vet ever! We took our pup for the last three years of his life, mainly because they were more affordable than other options, and they always were extremely attentive. Dr. Cheng and Dr. Liu never seemed in a rush to leave the room and always made sure all of our questions were answered before they let us go. Even after my dog crossed the rainbow bridge, the entire staff sent us a handwritten letter sharing their condolences.

I would highly recommend this vet to anyone looking for a caring team of professionals. And a big thank you to the WellHaven team for their help and compassion during these hard times!

I've been taking my dog here a few times already and I've generally been impressed. I'm very picky about vets (been through 4 before finding this one). It seems like the vets and vet techs working here genuinely love what they do, and the cost of service isn't outrageous. I recently saw Dr. Hart and very much liked her. I am definitely going back. I recommend this clinic to anyone, especially if they are nervous about taking their animals in. They also send a text a day afterwards asking how your animal is doing and if you have any questions, and they respond to these texts if you do happen to have questions. Very animal and people centered place.

WellHaven Pet Health located at Colorado Blvd and Iliff In Denver is a wonderful place to go if you are looking for expert caring and compassionate veterinarians and staff who will give their best to your furry friend. I have dealt with all of the veterinarians there and each one has been outstanding. I recently had to say goodbye to my 10-year-old cocker spaniel with lymphoma and I also said goodbye to a 16-year-old cat that belonged to my son. I recommend Welhaven without reservation for your pets care.

After working with PawsCo and Teddy Cat cafe, I am now taking my personal pets to WellHaven. The staff, techs and doctors are all wonderful caring people. For the parents as well as the pets. I always feel seen and my questions and concerns are always addressed. They are the best!! Love them!

Dr. Purdy and everyone at the clinic are amazing. The last vet I took my dog to didn’t bother trying to say hi to him and then immediately referred me to a trainer for “aggression” and then tried to push $1800 of services that he didn’t need. Dr Purdy on the other hand got down to his level and petted him until he was comfortable with her and told me he didn’t need the $1800 service and that we would start with the basics and work up from there. Can’t recommend this vet enough!

I have been bringing my dog here since he was a puppy. Their staff always treats me and my dog with respect, care, and empathy. They almost always can get us in to be seen promptly which gives me peace of mind. Thank you Wellhaven for taking great care of Swayze!

We have only been here once but I could not be more thankful for this clinic and Dr.Hart. They treated our pup so well and were endlessly patient. They spent time with us and talked to us, really helped in a horribly tough situation. I would not hesitate to return to this clinic and Dr. Hart! Thank you all so much for everything.

I have been taking my pups to Wellhaven for years and they are fantastic. I love the staff and the vets they have there. They are incredible at their jobs, very communicative and most importantly you can tell they care which means the most to me.
