I recently experienced another acute pancreatitis episode while at work, and because of previous difficult experiences at Penrose, I asked to be taken to Grandview’s Emergency Department instead. I am so incredibly glad I did.
The care I received was truly phenomenal. Every single person I encountered treated me with compassion, attentiveness, and professionalism during a very painful and stressful time. While I may not remember everyone’s name, I especially want to recognize NP Laura, Nurses Rhoda and Cheryl (and I believe Michelle was my night nurse), CNA Paulina, PCA David and his intern, as well as the housekeeping and dining staff. Each of them went above and beyond to ensure I felt heard, comfortable, and well cared for.
I cannot say enough good things about this team. Their kindness and exceptional care made all the difference in my experience.

From the check-in through the exam and checkout, everything went smoothly. Wait time was minimal. Dr. Pressler didn’t rush through the exam and addressed all my concerns. Her nurse had a gentle touch with the needle when drawing blood. Going to the doctor can be stressful, but this place makes it easier and worth the effort.

A shocking lack of compassion for patients, long hold times and disorganized replies. They ruthlessly canceled my long time gout prescription when my Dr. graduated and threatened to leave me in pain.
