Gabriela is wonderful. She just spent three years (pandemic delays) making me a two-piece custom wedding ensemble that is far and beyond what I imagined. She took my original idea from a template outfit that I brought in, also incorporated my mother's very delicate 30-year-old sari, and while respecting my original vision, she made suggestions that not only improved my idea but also made the whole ensemble even more creative and stunning. I am beyond thrilled with it and cannot recommend Gabriela enough, both for alteration and custom design! One piece of advice for any other brides out there; listen to and seek out Gabriela's advice from the very first appointment. One thing she cautioned me about in our first appointment is the type of silk I chose; I was dead set on this raw Indian silk I had bought, and Gabriela tried to advise me in the beginning that the kind of look I was going for would be much better suited to a blended fabric that had some stretch to it (like the template we were basing this design on.) But I insisted on the silk, and ultimately it created much more difficult work for her, requiring far more adjustments and re-fittings than a flexible fabric would have. So trust Gabriela's expertise! Although she is very sweet and soft-spoken, listen up when she chooses to speak up about a possible challenge! But even if you're stubborn as I was, she ended up surmounting that difficulty and making something very, very beautiful.
