Switched to 5 stars because I'm thrilled the nail place went out of business!! Yay!This old one-star review was for the nail salon, not the art place there is now. Terrible service and waaaaay overpriced. Go elsewhere. They wouldn't allow me to drink my cold-pressed sealed juice during my service and charged me for nothing. Avoid.

Such a neat little spot. Unfortunately I didn’t have an appointment to get my nails done when I was in the area but I was able to browse the shop and loved it. Well curated and great customer service.

I had the absolute best experience! I appreciate the covid guidelines and emphasis on safety. Dani did my nails and she was so wonderful! My nails looked incredible and I can't imagine going anywhere else now.

I've been getting pedicures at Base Coat for about a year and a half now, and every single time has been just perfect. They're very clean and fragrance-free--I like the lack of overpowering chemical smell so common in most other nail salons. I hate dealing with my own nails and it's always such a good feeling to walk out of the salon with a fresh pedicure. This and the Northside location have never been a disappointment!

This salon is beautiful, they are going above and beyond with keeping things clean and safe with COVID precautions, their products are as good as it gets, and the owner is a leader in the community for worker's rights.

I chose to go to Base Coat after 6 months of not getting my nails done. I was pregnant during quarantine / stay at home orders and have been very careful since by not making any unnecessary trips while having an infant in our home. I'm headed back to work after maternity leave this week and decided to get my nails done to get me ready and feeling great upon my return. Base Coat has all the necessary precautions to make this new mom feel extremely comfortable treating herself. They had a long list of rules and regulations that each client needs to adhere to prior to visiting their establishment. They took our temperature, sanitized our hands/shoes, required mandatory masks, at least 6 feet distance between mani/pedi stations, had plastic coverings on all seats, and plexy glass separating nail techs and clients. I felt very safe!My nail tech, Sonja, was great! She listened to my ideas for my nails and did an amazing job making my ideas a beautiful reality! She was very friendly and meticulous and the final product made me feel glamorous and excited to get back to the office tomorrow. The services at Base Coat are expensive but the treatment you get is extremely high end!
