I went in today and everyone was very nice and pleasant. They made me feel welcomed as soon as I walked in with a friendly greeting! Everything was fast and I was in and out! I will definitely be returning to this LGBT center. Thanks Guys!

If Im feeling emotional I go to the other location. Honestly, this is more convenient but I can only go when I want the handsome guy at the counter to make me feel bad about myself. Amanda is queen tho! We stan. ❤️‍?

Everyone I met here was phenomenal! They are all very friendly and helpful which eases the stresses of testing and treatment. They are very efficient and I was in and out within an hour. Here's a bit of what you can expect when visiting the LGBT center. When you make an appointment which is now required during COVID (no walk-ins) you will be asked to use their "Follow My Heath" App. Here you can upload your information and medical history and also immediately see your appointments, results and medications when they become available. I found this to be very convenient! Before your appointment you will get an e-mail to complete a pre-check which will expedite your visit as they will have all the information before your visit. When you arrive for your appointment, you check-in at the front, show your ID, then sign a few pieces of paper. The lady at the front was very friendly and said even though you have insurance, our services are free! Amazing! Grab a seat inside if available or you can wait outside, they will let you know when they're ready. I waited 15 mins and was called to meet with the PA who you may discuss any symptoms with. He/she may check your skin for rashes if you've been exposed to any STDs. Then you are given a cup to pee in and a anal swab. You go into the bathroom, do your thing, then drop the samples off. The room where you drop off the samples is the same room where a nurse will take two vials of blood and a throat swab. I was taken in right away. They were gentle and quick. They perform a rapid HIV test so you'll know your results within minutes. The rest is sent off to a lab and you'll know your results in about a week. If you've been potentially exposed to an STD like I was, They do treatment presumptively instead of waiting for results which is great! After giving the blood samples, I met with a nurse who administered a penicillin injection. I was told that it's a painful injection as it's thick but I barely felt a thing. Definitely stressed more than I should have. Yes, it will be slightly sore afterwards but it is not bad at all! The nurse was very friendly and made some small talk with me then casually mentioned at the end, "Oh yeah, by the way, your HIV rapid tests came back negative" (yay!) Last, you visit the pharmacy to pick up any medication if required. It's just a window by the front you walk up to, tell them your name and birthdate, get your meds and you're all done! Overall a great experience from start to end. Many thanks to the LGBT center for providing a fantastic service to the community!
