The terrible front desk lady said they wont accept new patient, however I'm not a NEW patient, I change to this doctor few months ago and they approve and I've got my new ID card already. Then I called today to make an appointment they are saying they won't accept, why didn't you reject in few months ago and waste everybody's time??

Came here for my regular annual wellness check up, which is free as mandated by the Affordable Care Act. So I double checked with the staff first, but they had to check with the doctor. He said oh that depends on ur insurance. First off, no it doesn't, it's under a federal law, buddy. Secondly, yes it does spell it out on my insurance that one general wellness exam a year is free, as in not even a copay. So u have no concerns? no So the staff made sure to let me know that as long as nothing is wrong, it'll be free. But if Dr. Wang finds something, then either it won't be free or he won't treat it... SERIOUSLY?! THAT'S ONE AWESOME DOCTOR WITH A GREAT CODE OF ETHICS RIGHT THERE! Good thing I'm generally in good health. I'm Asian so I've always had a mild anemia, my obgyn ran a bunch of tests when I was pregnant and came out okay, I had a healthy baby with no complications. But I'm due for yearly blood work anyway so he orders them, no biggie. A month later, gets a call from this office saying I need to come in to go over lab work. Will there be a copay, of course! So I told them I just want a copy of the lab work. I don't need to pay $45 for him to tell me I have anemia. The staff had to double check...nope, wanted me to come in cuz doc wanted to go over some abnormalities. Again, I refuse to pay $45 for him to tell me I'm anemic. Finally Dr. Wang just got on the phone to tell me I'm anemic, and that he wants to send me to a specialist. Well, at least he wasn't that awful of a doctor...I guess Now granted, I know that most general MDs prob make their money from copays. But it just seems like this doc goes a little far to push that. Can I afford to pay the copay, yes. But he should also be familiar with the Affordable Care act and know that once a year freebie exam is not going to kill him. I read an article that said a doctor charged a senior the full exam fee instead of the free wellness exam because he refilled a prescription. Yeah, I'm sure there are some douchy doctors out there... My other doc from previous insurance was well aware of the free exam, in fact their staff told me it was free when I was about to pay. He did, however, want to charge to go over blood panel, and when I said I didn't want to pay the copay so just give me a copy of the results, the doc said to come in anyway, he'll go over it without a fee. I'm thinking I need to go back to the other doc! And from other reviews, seems like this doc gives some similar impression to other people too.
