From the time I had seen Jessy very occasionally at a Ventura Pop-Up yoga class, I felt her soft and nurturing energy. I felt drawn to that energy so when she began moving in new directions, I followed where she was going (thank you technology for social media and newsletters) . I have been working with Jessy in different capacities for several years and being able to participate in her 30-day somatic herbalism offering has been one of my favorite ways to partner with her and access her knowledge. I would describe myself as someone with a fair amount of skepticism with a splash of woo and faith. Jessy's somatic herbalism is the perfect combination of plant science and herbalism, evidence backed somatics, and intuitive knowing. I initially began a somatic herbalism program with Jessy to address some chronic digestive health issues I have been struggling with for almost two years. I have tried everything from functional medicine treatment to acupuncture and traditional therapy. While all of these things helped temporarily, I have never been able to find something that allowed me to find sustainable healing. As a result, I turned to this somatic practice in order to explore any underlying emotional or trauma issues that may be causing an imbalance in my body and preventing me from truly healing.
