Overall I have a good doctor and can usually get my needs met in a timely manner. My doctor is responsive and proactive. I really appreciate Dr. Carroll. The lab tech was extremely efficient and professional today in drawing my blood. She provided me a urine sample cup and directed me to any of the 3 bathrooms located in the lab to provide the sample. After completing the collection of my sample I opened the door to the Lab Specimen window (located inside each restroom) to place my sample inside. To my horror there were approximately 10 other samples sitting inside the tray. How disgusting and unprofessional. I had to touch other specimens to make mine fit. Also each person's name and confidential information were included of course on labels of the respective specimens! Not to mention the possibility of tampering. I'm not sure how often staff retrieve samples for processing but you can be certain staff had not emptied this tray in hours. The lobby for the lab was practically empty when I walked in and without delay I was able to walk right to rhe lab tech for blood draw. So its not like 10 people had all gone into that 1 bathroom within the last couple hours. Nasty. No excuses. I hope to never see that again.
I stopped by Kaiser Vacaville for some blood work. I originally made an appt for this morning, but, overslept through it. I decided to stop by when the rain calmed down a bit. The lab is located on the 2nd floor, station A24. This is for walk ins only. If you have a lab appointment, the sign will redirect you to A11. This Kaiser lab location has you take a number ticket and wait for your number to be called by reception. From there, reception will verify your info with your Kaiser member card. Once done with reception, I found a vacant table to sit until my number was called by the lab staff. I didn't wait long before me number was called. The lab tech that helped me was friendly and was really great about getting my blood (I have very small, tricky veins that love to move when poked by a needle) after the second try (You guessed it, my vein moved the 1st time). I was done in no time. Although the process was quick, it would have been faster if I kept my appointment. There was a lot of other patients waiting in the lobby when I arrived and kept coming as I was leaving. I would love to dsay I won't be back. But, most likely will be for my healthcare. LOL. Till next time Kaiser!
I was pleasantly surprised how easy it was to get an eye appt here. They require u to make a separate appt for the optical dept after your eye appt. I could not make an appt for the optical dept after my eye appt because they were booked up. I asked if there was availability to look at glasses after my appt and a lady helped me right away even without an appt. My appt was at 11 and I had my eyes checked and purchased glasses all before 1130! I'm impressed!
