Jess was kind, patient and so meticulous with the care of my hair during the donation process, going well and beyond any of my expectations.

Jess asked questions on my hair care routine, offered practical advice on products and tools that might be well suited for my hair type, washed and styled my hair. Jess is a hair whisperer, detangling with the lightest touch. When I asked about the clips that were used, I was offered one to take home! Jess offered so much more than just a cut- but a whole holistic experience of conversation, care, concern and expertise.

For years, I have been without a stylist. I am so grateful to that this process brought me to Jess.

Jess is located in Black Dagger- a beautiful, well appointed and well lit salon. Black Dagger does a great job in making all of their clients feel safe and welcomed, and is truly a safe space free of judgement. They have an adorable selection of fun hair clips at the front- I will be buying a few when I return!

“I’ve been getting my hair braided by Nabou and EVERY SINGLE TIME my hair looks amazing and I get tons of compliments!!!She is not heavy handed either so my head doesn’t hurt after. Her parts are very neat. I recently got French braids a month and a half ago and my hair still looks good.
She is very punctual! If she says 10am appointment then it’s 10 am ?? praise Jesus! She has healed me from previous hair dressers who will not start your hair until hours after the appointment time.

“Oh my gosh I don’t even know where to begin Artmoon is amazing and Olga is such an Angel!! I think I might even be addicted to wanting to get my hair braided more often now lol Immediately when I walked in such great energy and Olga really took her time to make sure I get the ultimate experience. I’ve never gotten my hair braided before so I figured I’d go with Viking braids for my photoshoot. Go big or go home right?!

Let me tell you I almost fell asleep a couple of times when she was braiding my hair that’s how gentle Olga was. The braids themselves were just absolutely phenomenal!! I had so many compliments on them and I felt like a true Goddess! You can tell she has such passion by the quality of her art!

“I can’t recommend Rochelle enough! From our very first interaction, she was kind, empathetic, and incredibly sensitive to my skin concerns—especially my eczema and acne. She made me feel seen, comfortable, and beautiful every step of the way.

Beyond her talent, Rochelle was the definition of professional: prompt with communication, organized, and thoughtful. She even took the initiative to coordinate directly with members of my bridal party about their individual services, sparing me the stress of playing middleman during an already hectic time.

She was also incredibly sweet to my flower girl—my 12-year-old niece—who was nervous about wearing makeup for the first time. Rochelle was gentle, reassuring, and made her feel so special. On wedding day she made sure I stayed calm with all the nerves unfolding. They arrived on time, set up everything quickly and made sure it was all organized so we can relax and enjoy the morning. “I visited this salon after hearing mixed opinions from friends, so I went in curious but cautious. I booked a haircut and hair spa mostly because my hair had started feeling dull and lifeless lately. The stylist turned out to be very straightforward and realistic about what would suit my face shape instead of blindly agreeing with every trend I mentioned. I actually appreciated that honesty. During the treatment she explained how hard water and frequent heat styling were affecting my scalp, which made a lot of sense. The salon music became slightly too loud once more customers arrived, but otherwise the atmosphere stayed comfortable. When I got home later that evening, my hair felt noticeably softer and easier to brush through. It finally looked healthy again instead of constantly frizzy.“
