“Dr. SCHOLLER!!!!!! He was the absolute best dentist ever , ....I will truly miss him.
I'm currently not very happy with Monique the hygenist and if I could individually give her one star I would do it .
Coming back from chemo , I specifically asked if at this time I could please just have a cleaning and not have any other charges this one time .
I asked in advance on the phone prior booking the appointment. I was told this is part of her job but the message would be relayed.
I had a 3 pm appointment and I was 10 min late. When I got in ,I asked if Monique could still take me? I sat down and waited a few minutes and Monique came and got me and I felt relieved. , But then she literally cleaned my teeth in I think less than 10 min and the did the polishing .
When she finished she asked if I could meet the new dentist .
Well little did I know that meet and greet turned into to a examination charge at the dest .
I'm very thankful that Sonia at the desk straightened it out and I was only charged for a cleaning .
But by the way ,my back tooth still had some build up that left ended up taking off myself at home.
I know Monique the hygienist doesn't reflect the rest of the office.
It was so humiliating for me to be have to need to be on guard about how much ive agreed in advance to pay , just to go home and finish the job. I would have appreciated more time spent on cleaning instead of the meet and greet.
To the office, if Monique leaves the dental practice , please let me know so I can take the review down.
Otherwise Thank you for the years of service Dr Scholler , may you enjoy retirement! As for the New Dentist he seems nice and maybe he was set up by Monique or possibly this is the way the office is run now , I'm not going to be finding out.“

Throughout every step, Dr. Chen remained calm, confident, and genuinely caring, which made the experience exceptionally reassuring. “My experiences with Dr David Canale as my dentist over the years has been great! He is very professional, skilled, gentle, and has excellent bedside manner. His receptionist/office assistant Michelle is organized and has a friendly voice and personality whenever we schedule appointments over the phone. He cleans my teeth personally, and doesn’t pass me on to a dental hygienist or another dentist ever. His practice is clean, organized and has the latest equipment. I cannot recommend Newbury Park Dental highly enough.

I come from a family of dentists — my father is a dentist, and my sister is a Harvard- and UCLA-trained dentist — so I have a pretty strong baseline for what honest, thoughtful dental care should look like. I grew up in a dental office and know how a well run practice with dentist who care.

Before finding Newbury Park Dental, I went to another dentist in the Conejo Valley who told me I needed eight fillings. That did not sound right to me, so I sent the X-rays to my sister. Her response was basically: “I would not fill any of those.”

I then went to Newbury Park Dental for another opinion, and they agreed with my sister. That told me everything I needed to know.

Since then, they have treated me and my family like family. The twins and the associate dentist are thoughtful, kind, honest, and technically excellent. They take the time to explain things, they do not push unnecessary treatment, and they clearly care about doing the right thing for their patients.

If you are looking for an honest, talented, and highly skilled dental office, I would recommend Newbury Park Dental to anyone.“

“So far, very positive. I’ve had my share of dental work, so I consider myself well versed enough to leave a review. Let’s get one thing out of the way. This is NOT one of those chain offices run like a skincare spa, where a commissioned “coordinator” signs you up and sells you on various services including upsells. I’m used to, and prefer Dr. Subka’s kind of practice, as opposed to a mercenary commercial enterprise, run by bean counters.

This doctor was recommended to me by decades-long friends, as well as newer friends with whom I play pickleball. I needed a new dentist because all of my “old” dentists, well… grew old. I.e., they retired. I prefer dentists who were trained at USC, and Dr. Subka fits that criterion.

From what I saw, the office has one relaxed and personable receptionist / admin, a hygienist, one or two dental assistants, the dentist, and what appears to be an office manager. I recall there were about three rooms for dental procedures, plus one for hygiene, and one for X-rays. At the end of the hallway is a panoramic X-ray machine. I've actually only had panoramics done by an oral surgeon, so that was impressive. In addition to the panoramic X-ray, they did numerous digital single-frame X-rays.

I had made my first appointment as an introductory visit for a cleaning, X-rays, and exam. The cleaning was one of the most thorough I've ever had. It started with a visual exam, followed by pocket measurements, next ultrasonic cleaning, then manual scaling, and finally polish. It took well over an hour, but won’t next time, since the measurements don't happen every visit.

The exam by the dentist started with a warm introduction, lots of sincere eye contact, a discussion of my concerns, then a lot of poking around. I had asked for a fluoride treatment, which she did as we discussed the restorations that would need replacement, since I had ground through some of mine over the years. She referred me to a periodontist, sadly, because I had a place that would need a gum graft. Argh! I was thrilled to learn that she is willing and able to work with gold. Even though it costs more, my mechanics and chemistry work better with the inert malleable material. That put my mind at ease.

I’m not afraid of the dentist, but I know many people are. It is hard for me to project how a fearful patient would feel. I can say, though, I felt cared-for and relaxed. I am confident this practice would handle fear with aplomb.

This practice is up with technology, sends appointment reminder text messages, has online “paperwork”, so a clipboard is not the first thing I saw when I entered the office. They gave me a cute introductory goody bag with various flair. And how cool it wasn’t the ubiquitous toothbrush and floss lol. I won’t be a spoiler, you’ll need to go and see for yourself.

At first I was not very impressed with the office’s stance on private insurance. It turns out, though, they efficiently submitted claims which were paid to me directly. I did pay as I went, but that’s fine. I think that’s how most dental practices work, especially given how lame most dental policies actually are.

So far Dr Subka has replaced five gold crowns / onlays for me and done a stellar job. One thing I must mention is that I’ve never had a dentist leave no evidence of the numbing shot. Not only did I not feel the shot when it was happening, but I wasn’t sore the next day.

I referred my husband to Dr. Subka and he likes her as much as I do.“

“I have been going to Dr. Rad consistently for about 2 years now, at least 8 appointments, and he is by far the best dentist I’ve had. First, we’ve already changed the regression of my gums with just 2 cleaning appointments and suggesting a water pic at home. Second, I’ve had multiple root canals and crowns done prior in my life and I’ve never had a dentist take his time and do everything so precisely before. Dr. Rad has replaced 2 of the not so well done crowns I got prior and I appreciate that he lays everything out, they give you a quote before starting, and work with insurance easily. I never feel pressured into doing anything. Lisa is great at the front desk and I’ve loved every hygienist I’ve had. My gums and teeth have never been healthier after following his and the hygienists suggestions and advice.“
