This is a fantastic travel clinic. Medicare does not cover travel vaccines, and neither do a number of health insurance plans. The Vaccines are expensive, but Westside Travel provides many of them at a substantially lower price than the University Travel Clinics in Los Angeles. Beyond that, Dr. Winters is absolutely great and proviides a thoughtful and honest explanation of what diseases, if any, might be worth being immunized for (and in a small number of locations required) depending on what area you will be visiting and what activities you will be doing. In most areas of the world in normal travel conditions you are unlikely to catch a terrible disease; it all comes down to the level of risk you are comfortable with, and Dr. Winters provides you with the information you need to make the final tradeoff which comes down to your preferred balance of cost and actual risk. He does not try to pressure you to take any immunizations. He also spends as much time with his clients as needed. You will not be rushed. He is like Doctors used to be in the old days. He is devoted and he cares. Even if your insurance does cover travel vaccines, it is still worth seeing this excellent doctor. Your only extra cost will be to figure out how to submit the forms yourself. If your insurance does not cover travel vaccines, it simply makes no sense to go anywhere else.
