They have BS policies about yearly exams to get your pets prescribed flea medication. Middle of the summer and would not give my dogs his his flea meds. With out an exam by the end it would have 3-400 visit. Supposedly it's the law? No matter my doctor is more lenient with r prescriptions then that are. The manager was defensive and rude and threatened to hang up on me because I said " this is BS" that's Santa Monica for you. I went into LA county and got the medication.

Do not go to this vet they are con artists that only care about money and not your animals well-being. The doctor is extremely unprofessional very combative and an extremely nasty lady that only cares about money. I'm begging you for your own sake and for your animal's sake do not go to this vet! They used to be great however over the last few years after their doctor changed they became terrible and money hungry. If you don't believe me take your dog there pay $150 just to get in the door and see what kind of test and things they want to run then take your pet to another vet and compare. You can also go and read they're old comments and see where the vet would comment back being extremely combative and blaming the patient and not taking any responsibility. DO NOT GO HERE!

Dr. George is the best!! I took my dogs to him for over 20 years. The man loves all dogs. My Welsh Terrier had a degenerative disc problem. Dr. Georges acupuncture gave Oliver a lot of relief. I have moved to Arizona and I have taken my current Welsh Terrier to over 10 vets to find someone close in knowledge and compassion to my favorite vet. My search has been futile. Here they treat dogs like cars going in tor a tune up. You first meet with the assistant and then the vet comes in to check out your dog. Than the assistant comes back out and put a list of services they think your dog needs on a computer screen mounted from the ceiling so you can get a good view. screen. It is never less than $500. You are so lucky to have a Vet like Tony. Just appreciate him.

I think that unfortunately, after 6+ years of going to SMPMC, I need to leave. Similar to other recent reviews you'll see, the staff is genuinely wonderful and the doctors are so helpful. What *kills* me is their weirdly predatory upsells during simple (or not so simple appointments.) A simple routine check-up comes with recommendations for: - A $2,500 teeth cleaning - Dog vitamins/probiotics for $60+ - Specialty food - Flea medication - Ear medication If I accepted everything,my appointment would come to $3500 for an annual visit. It gets exhausting constantly denying services- it's almost like going to a Jiffy Lube and having to deny all of these weird add-on services. I hope they read these reviews because I would love to return some day. At times, blood work

The feeling of being upsold is always now. I get the feeling they work on commission because they seem highly motivated to get you to do anything and everything right off the bat.

If I could rate this place a zero, I would. My dog has been going here for over three years and has had many medical procedures as she is very prone to injury and illness. Naturally, she has built up anxiety around going to the vet. These vets and vet techs have possibly the worst bedside manner I have ever witnessed in my life. They shame you for everything you do, and have no empathy for the animals. I took my dog in today after having been told to drop her off, and when she was scared, they asked me why I would ever drop my dog off...??????? They then told me I should just pay for vets to come to my house to treat her....????? What in the world are you even talking about? I'm a young girl without even close to the financial wellness I would need to do that. They had me take her home without any treatment since they said they couldn't put her under anesthesia after eating for her safety, and told me to bring her back in the morning as they could see that she is in extreme pain. Then over the phone that same day, they said they actually have no room for her and I will have to take her somewhere else and that she is too anxious for them..????? The energy and conversations were so appalling I almost have to laugh. I have spent so many thousands of dollars here (the prices are so outrageous it is extremely predatory), and I have never felt safe with the staff. I passed it off as the stress of having to go to the vet and all that entails, but today just sealed the deal. It's not stress - it's them. Believe me, they do not care about your pets or you. Please spare yourself and your pet.

Unfortunately I have to leave a terrible review for this facility. All pet owners know that the vet is not cheap for regular exams and tests and meds, but there are places with integrity, that truly care about your pet and do what's in their best interest, while being mindful of the costs to the owner. This place is not one of them. Not only do they push irrelevant extra exams on you, but in one very alarming case, when exams that were already done months ago were yet again pushed, one of their doctors acted alarmingly aggressive and yelled at the owner that she's cheap, wants her pet to die and quote "should take her pet to the ghetto in south central." I now feel we should all ban together and have this disgusting facility shut down. I couldn't be more appalled and I hope you refrain from ever putting your pet under their care. There are plenty of options to care for your fur baby and this is not one of them.

I have gone here for over two years now and am finally taking my business elsewhere. Constantly feeling up charged and shamed into taking every vaccine on offer. Recently paid over $1000 for ear infection and vaccine treatment which is way above market. The best quality about this business is the parking availability, but no warm and fuzzy treatment here whatsoever.

Insanely expensive. Over $900 for 2 dogs. Exam is $105, are you insane? Other place charge 1/2 that. $80 for ear cleaning. $57 for ear plucking, cytopoint is $125, they keep jacking this price every once in a while because they know dogs rely on those to not itch. It's $80-90 other places. + cytology and other things. You can go you know where with these prices.

This place used to be good. Now you have to struggle to get anything done. They just wanna monetize off of bringing your dog in every couple of months. They don't keep good records, and they have lost touch with bedside manner and what it means to take great care of your pet. Sadly, they went from being one of the best veterinarians in town to one of the worst. If you know of a better place... Please reply to this or direct message me so I can take my dog there, where in my business and his health will be appreciated
