We were staying near Ann's studio in Santa Cruz and made a last minute reservation for a private session. She was so great with my 8 year old daughter explaining things and correcting positions as we went along. I really liked her balance of the physical and spiritual side of yoga. Having spent a honeymoon in Bali the ambiance of the property was a real treat. We look forward to revisiting her when in the area.

Happened to walk by her studio in my neighborhood, and am forever grateful. Hadn't been moving my body enough and felt hesitant to re-start yoga after years off. Ann and her other clients are so welcoming. Her style is matter-of-fact and comes from obvious experience. I feel so much more aligned and safe and stronger after every class. Love her, the studio and the entire gang!

Ann's approach to teaching Iyengar yoga is very therapeutic and tailored to the individual. She has taught me so much about my body, posture, alignment and stress reduction. I appreciate her attention to her student's needs and her knowledge of the anatomy. She is always able to come up with suggestions on how to modify a pose when we need it. I have been practicing yoga with her in her lovely, healing studio for over 25 years and always leave her studio feeling better than when I came in. She is a positive, intuitive and joyful person. She truly has a gift and I have been the happy recipient of it.

Ann Barros is a phenomenal teacher. Her classes are small so each student gets a lot of attention. Ann is certified to teach yoga and has years of experience, unlike many other "yoga" teachers. She pays particular attention to proper alignment and she makes sure that each student has the proper foundation, strength and flexibility before doing more advanced poses, thereby preventing unnecessary injuries. Her studio has a large mirror on one wall that is great to check proper alignment. The studio is near the beach so it is wonderful to take a walk on the beach before or after class. Ann was recommended to me by Elise Browning Miller who is the founding director of the California Yoga Center in Mountain View and specializes in treating scoliosis and sports injuries. I have studied with Ann for many years and look forward to her classes and the camaraderie with my fellow students. I always feel wonderful after taking her classes. Ann has really helped me to stay balanced, fit and safe for horse back riding which I love to do. Yoga is great cross training for any sport. Many thanks to Ann for her great classes!

Ann is the best ! We are fortunate to have someone of this high caliber right here in Santa Cruz. I really like the small class size since I get lots of personal attention and modifications of the poses to help with my recent knee surgery. Ann is very warm, kind, and caring and this shows through in her instruction and classes. Ann has been a top notch yoga instructor for decades and has focused solely on yoga, even traveling abroad for yoga every year. Ann's experience and reputation draw great students to her class that encourage and help each other. Ann also shares her vast knowledge of yoga and its history and tidbits during class to give context to the poses and why we do them. Ann constantly checks to make sure that you are doing the poses safely so you won't get injured. She is very detailed in her directions and comes over and uses her hands and feet to adjust you. You can't get that kind of hands on instruction these days. I'm amazed at the progress I have made with Ann by attending her classes once a week for the last few years. I highly recommend her classes and have heard great things about her yearly trip to Bali with her students. I've even started attending classes twice a week now. Lilly
