I’m a huge fan of Dr Stein. I’ve been seeing him for about seven years and I’ve always found him to be warm, compassionate, caring, effective, funny. I actually enjoy and look forward to our meetings. I have not had great experiences with some of the other addiction medicine specialists in the area. Some are insanely expensive, one guy was super creepy. Dr Stein just seems to me like a normal guy who likes his job and wants to help.
This Dr. is an amazing, rare intellectual who intuitively and critically understands his field. For example, I have a chronic illness I managed since 12, which caused scoliosis and hemiplegic migraines (stroke like) and a plethora of other health concerns. I also have an acute injury (ruptured acl) requiring surgery. I’ve had a history of anxiety and ADHD and been diagnosed since I was a child. Because of other prescribers not being of the caliber to prescribe certain medication or prescribe it properly, the burden of big pharama bureaucracy is usually put on the patient and they suffer.
