“Glen is absolutely outstanding! Communication to set up an appointment was a breeze. He is appointments only so that nobody feels rushed which is great. Shop is right in downtown with a nice cozy vibe to it. He was ready right at my appointment time and what a craftsman Glen is! I walked in with a mop on my head and came out looking real sharp with a haircut and beard trim. After a string of lackluster barber experiences elsewhere in Santa Cruz I'm so glad to have found Surf City. I'll definitely be back!

“Very cool vibe with friendly barbers. I heard a ton of great things about Waves and Fades, and they were all true. The experience from start to finish was overall pretty great. My only concern is that I was very clear about keeping the length of my hair on top the same, but the barber cut so much of it off that the style was completely off from what I explained. No big deal, hair grows back, but I was kind of bummed about it.“

“Great haircuts, great vibe in the place. The first time I came in there was two days before my wedding, and I was kinda panicking trying to get a good haircut. They were super busy, and I didn't have an appointment, but they fit me in (I did have to wait a long time, but that made sense because they were kindly fitting me into a busy schedule). My new wife loved the cut, and I've been going there ever since. They usually run on time, so if you have an appointment, not too much waiting.
