From Sunset Canvas & Awning
Greg Parr began custom canvas related work in the Navy as a Parachute Rigger beginning in the late 1970’s through to 1988. He had also apprentice as a Sail maker in Hawaii leaning awning fabrication, installation & management along the way. Greg started his first Sunset Canvas in a garage with one sewing machine in Mailii Beach Hawaii, the skills and love of his craft and a desire to deliver only the best. The business eventually relocated in the Bay Area and has become a South Bay benchmark for quality and competitive pricing. We needed to replace a pergola and decided to try shade sails. Greg was incredibly responsive and professional. He got us from concept to finished product quickly and beautifully. We are so happy with the end result and wholeheartedly recommend doing business with Sunset Canvas!
Greg was excellent to work with (and I tend to be very picky and a micromanager on stuff like this). We worked with him to install a set of awnings under an arbor in our backyard. He presented a number of proposals as we figured out various options and what we thought was worth spending. When we needed a number of canvas samples, he arranged that without a hassle. Install was a breeze and was done way before the rest of our project. The awning itself is excellent. The fabric we chose lets in some light (they have many complete-block options) but provides excellent shade and has outside all the time even in the midday sun.
I had Sunset Canvas replace our pool sails and was definitely impressed! We worked directly with Greg and I can't say enough great things about him and Sunset! They were prompt and stayed on our tight schedule. They listened to our needs and went above and beyond. Their pricing was great, too! Thank you for doing such a great job, Sunset!!
