We have been coming here for 4 years and are so happy with our experience. My daughter has truly loved her experiences, her teachers and the group environment. I have always felt listened to with any concern I've had, and the recitals are an incredible experience that are so skillfully put together and managed to keep everyone enthusiastic and on track. I couldn't have asked for a better experience as our first dance studio.

My daughter took her first ballet class at Park & Rec when she was 2. She enjoyed dance so much that I started looking for a more permanent dance school. My coworker recommended Small Fry Dance Club (PCPA for the littles). She started in their Music & Movement program which incorporated tap, jazz, and ballet. Within 3 years, she was ready to graduate to the big kids' program. 6 years later, we are still at PCPA. This studio has given my daughter so much confidence and helps her to continue blossom into an outstanding performer. Since my daughter had such of great experience in small fry dance, she continue in PCPA, she joined Jazz competitive team, they had been doing such of great job, winning many awards, scholarships, and a lot of confidence. During Covid it was so hard for us, but PCPA keep us moving, focus, and enthusiastic. I really like the instructors very energetic Hey George!!! Stephanie great choreographer!!! Christa so creative, Jana and Carlos I admire their organization and they just make it happen. My daughter feels very happy and comfortable, that's priceless for me. We like all in general. My gym is so close to the studio, while she dances I train to. Love it

From Principal Creative & Performing Arts

PCPA has been teaching kids dance classes in San Mateo since 2014. We have been voted "Best Dance School" by Bay Area Parent Magazine 8 times. Our program is a continuation for those that started in Small Fry Dance Club, as well as new dancers ages 5 and up. Styles we offer include ballet, tap, jazz, musical theatre, hip hop, lyrical, contemporary, and pointe classes. We also offer competitive performance teams in a variety of styles and levels. PCPA is owned by the husband and wife team of Jana & Carlos Chapeton, who founded Small Fry Dance Club in 2007.
