About Nandi Yoga

Nandi Yoga is a well-regarded studio that offers a variety of classes, including Iyengar yoga, Jivamukti yoga, and partner yoga. The studio's instructors, such as Sue, Jeremy, and others, are praised for their expertise and ability to adapt to unexpected situations. In one instance, a tree trimming event caused a shower of debris to fall into the studio, but Jeremy and the staff handled the situation with kindness and professionalism, ensuring the class continued safely. The studio also offers amenities such as "correct" yoga mats and blankets for students' comfort. While some students may find certain aspects of the studio's spiritual practices surprising, the overall atmosphere and instructors' approach make Nandi Yoga a welcoming and enjoyable space for practice.

I personally enjoy sue phan’ Iyengar yoga session. She comes with prep note pad and is so good in explaining the importance of each postures with their benefits with a touch of humor ? I can literally feel the intense of my muscles . I’m so glad I attended her session . Love it ?

The true mark of a good yoga studio is how well they handle unfortunate events — Nandi is truly one of the best that I’ve been to, both in the best of times and the weirdest of times. I really enjoy Jeremy’s Jivamukti classes, and today there was tree trimming going on outside. Jeremy coached the class through the loud noises, and everything was groovy. And then, a shower of tree bits came through the skylight on top of me — totally unexpected for everyone!Jeremy and the front desk made sure I was okay, started making calls to the city and landlord, and comped me appropriately. I am very grateful for their kindness, especially for something so totally unpredictable...read full review

I lived in San Mateo for almost a decade and didn't know about this place until a friend invited me for partner yoga while I was visiting. The partner yoga was pretty fun, the instructors were helpful, and they provided me with a "correct" yoga mat (the kind I had was too thick and too slippery for our purposes) without fee. I also found it nice that they had blankets for cold/kneeling/etc. Note: partner yoga also had some partner massaging, in case you're not comfortable enough with the person you came with lol. I didn't realize there would be a spiritual/religious aspect to it, where we did chants for five minutes prior to class. It was a little weird/uncomfortable for me to be surprised with it. We also ran over by quite a bit, which was okay but since I was visiting I had really hoped to be able to spend more time looking around San Mateo after.
