Jakob Zucker is one of those Barry’s instructors who really stands out for his balance of calm, intentional programming and strong, effective motivation. His classes are thoughtfully structured—you can tell there’s a clear plan behind every block, and the progressions feel purposeful rather than chaotic.
What I appreciate most is his coaching style. He doesn’t rely on over-the-top hype, but instead brings a grounded, steady energy that actually helps you stay focused and push harder. When he does turn up the motivation, it feels genuine and well-timed, which makes it land even more.

I loved Jakob’s music choices. I also liked that he called out each person’s name when encouraging us during the class. He walked around and made sure to fix my form so I can do the moves properly.
My first time at Barry’s and I’m old and out of shape. Doug helped me with set up and motivated me throughout. Hard work but really enjoyed it - shame I live 5,355 miles away so unlikely to be back in one of the Burlingame classes but will be checking out Barry’s in London. Thanks Doug!
