“The focal point of my home is a cupola that rests on a porte cochere. It was supposed to be capped with a copper cupola, but the builder had no experience in copper and for the past 14 years, I have searched online for a solution. Purchasing a prefab cupola online would not work because of the unique shape of the base. I called Hans at Custom Copperworks after reviewing his website, and sent him an email. He immediately replied to both, and offered to visit my property to see it with his own eyes. Within a day, Hans envisioned a size/shape appropriate copper cupola that matched the pitch of my roof, and he sent me a drawing. After I approved, he and his crew went to work and fabricated the cupola to the unique shape/dimension of the base. A week later, he brought the cupola onsite and installed it. From the moment I saw it arrive, I was nothing short of astonished. The detail, precision, and overall shape perfectly matched the architecture of the house. Hans designed an ingenious method for preventing rain water from collecting near the seam (which is stucco) and it fit perfectly atop the existing base. I find myself looking at the cupola every time I walk outside or drive to/from the house. Family and neighbors have already commented on how much they like the appearance, asking who designed and built it. I wish I could take the credit, but that belongs solely to Hans and his crew. To say they exceeded my expectations is an understatement.”
