About Innovation Construction
Innovation Construction is a professional and timely general contractor, handling projects from stair repairs to full house remodels and gut renovations. Their communication is awesome and their work exceeds expectations. The team is a great asset and joy to work with, personally involved and on site regularly, especially during big work. They handle major projects including kitchens, decks, exterior siding, landscape, foundation replacement, and basement digs. While construction is a tough business and delays can happen, the biggest and most important things they do are high quality. They handle difficult situations, like hostile neighbors, with aplomb. Their prices are fair and reasonable considering the amount of work. Some clients recommend being more prepared with a detailed scope of work and an architect to understand the total project. There can be problems during any big project, but the team handles them well enough. For first-time homeowners, it is suggested not to live at the renovation address due to stress. Overall, they are highly recommended, with neighbors so impressed they hire them too. As far as general contractors go, you could do worse than Innovation Construction.
My mom recently used this company to fix her stairs and we can honestly say they are a great asset and joy to work with. Their communication was awesome, which is extremely important to me. The team was very professional and did everything in a timely manner. Their representative Mary Salamanca is awesome. We would highly recommend this company to friends and family.
Mr. Danny Ho remodeled our entire house. We are extremely pleased, his work exceeded our expectations. He did our kitchen, decks, exterior siding and landscape. After he completed my house, our neighbors were so impressed that they used him and his crew to remodel their home as well. His prices are fair, and he completed everything on time as he had promised. We now have a new home. I highly recommend him.W. Horton
Andrew really held our hands through our first and hopefully only construction project, on a 120 year-old Queene Anne duplex, including gut renovation of both units, replacement of our brick foundation, and a full (enormous) dig of the basement. He was personally involved in our project in many ways. He was on site at least every week, and every day during big work. Construction is a tough business, and they didn't do everything right, but the biggest and most important things they did were high quality. We had extremely hostile neighbors -- an ongoing situation which Andrew and his crew inherited and handled with aplomb. There were major delays and it took waaaay more time than it should have, but some of that was our fault, and some the city's. You have to take all these 1-star reviews with a grain of salt. Look at a couple of the 1-star reviewers at random and you can see that the overwhelming majority of their reviews, from restaurants to pedicures, are one star. Disgruntled people are more likely to leave bad reviews. There were problems during our project, for sure, but that's true of any big project. Andrew and his team handled them well enough. The price... The price was reasonable considering the amount of work we did in the end. I was not happy with the way we got there, through a bajillion change orders, but that wasn't Andrew's fault. We got pulled deeper and deeper into this money pit until, before we knew it, the whole house was redone. More experienced homeowners, or more prepared ones, might have a better time with this by insisting on a detailed SOW. Also? If we could do it all over again, we would spend the money to hire an architect *first* and really understand the total scope of the project, along with a budget we could feel good about (+20% because that's life). If you are reading this review as a prospective client, and you are anything like us -- First-time home owners, naïve to residential construction, facing foundation work -- My #1 suggestion is: Do not live at the same address you're renovating. Living at a construction site was incredibly stressful on our lives and marriage. But as far as general contractors go, you could do worse than Innovation Construction!
