    Call me old fashioned, but there's nothing more disconcerting than feeling like just another number in your vet's charts. Especially when your four-legged "kid" is sick, as in seriously sick, and your mind is racing through every possible worst-case scenario in the book. Sad to say, after years of this treatment at countless practices (specialty or otherwise), I had resigned myself to this sub par standard of service. Until my boxer was diagnosed with lymphoma.     After my dog was diagnosed with an aggressive mast cell tumor, we tried one of the "best" cancer groups in the county and were not impressed. I left feeling that if I didn't spend an immediate 10k on my dog that I was a horrible pet owner. No alternate options were given, or a priority list of what things could be done first, second, etc. I felt like a number. During a hard time like this, that's the last thing I wanted. A friend then referred me to Dr. Vancil at Veterinary Cancer Group and I have nothing but great things to say about him and the staff.     We have three shih-tzus and we have them groomed on a monthly basis by a mobile groomer. Last month, the groomer pointed out a pea-sized growth on the top of Leo's front right paw. It was a bit nasty looking, so we took him into College Animal Hospital (see my review!) that afternoon. Dr. Van Spronsen tried a needle biopsy of the mass, but it came back inconclusive yet a bit concerning.
