Total Vision Del Mar

First eye exam in a decade. First pair of glasses. Every single woman at this Del Mar location was nice, personable, easy to talk to, and helpful. From the receptionist, to the doctor, to the one who helped me check out, and all the others who helped me pick out frames. The location is small and casual but the selection was overwhelming (in a good way). I would have been in and out very quickly had I not taken forever to choose the frames. Eye checkup went fine, was able to get more breathable lenses and everything went efficiently. The best part was Odessa, who helped figure out how to maximize my benefits and order me updated glasses/contacts. It was the first time I’ve had eye insurance in a long time so it was all foreign to me. She was patient as I tried on half the eyeglasses in the shop and explained how to maximize my benefits in such a clear manner. She was so beyond helpful and inviting and even found me frames that another store had that they didn’t when I still struggled to decide.

Now just hoping the frames get made soon, still waiting after 2 weeks.

Not sure what the deal is with all the bad reviews but I had a great experience here. Dr. Starkey gave me a great prescription, for both glasses and contacts. One of the best prescriptions I have had in a few years for sure and I’ve been to a few of the overpriced “boutique” optometrists around here.

Glasses and contacts were ready in two weeks and they were all correct. All of the staff were wonderful and friendly. I’ll be back for sure.

I guess the only sort of negative is that they are out-of-network for VSP. It was not a big deal because I had another insurance to use but if VSP was my only choice, this may have been a... read full review
