I have been a client at Formula Skin Lab for a while now. Stephanie is highly knowledgeable and her work, along with the products she uses, is excellent.
However, the customer service has been severely lacking on multiple occasions..
On my first visit the esthetician accidentally got some product in my eye during a treatment. Although she quickly flushed it with water, it completely ruined my silk press. Despite the inconvenience, all I received was an apology with no additional compensation.
Additionally, there have been multiple instances where my appointments were canceled just an hour or 2 before the scheduled time. The reasons varied from not having the necessary skincare products for the session to not wanting to inconvenience an employee due to their commute. I was told that it wouldn't be worth the employee's time to come in for just one client that day despite my appointment being booked almost a week in advance and my own 45-minute commute.
They offered to reschedule my appointment the same day but I explained that wouldn’t work for me due to my commute and traffic around that time. Although they offered a discount on my next appointment, I’m concerned that appointment might also be canceled, given the pattern.
While Stephanie is knowledgeable and does great work, the repeated cancellations and lack of consideration have been very frustrating. Customer service needs significant improvement to match the quality of the treatments provided.

I have been a client at Formula Skin Lab for a while now. Stephanie is highly knowledgeable and her work, along with the products she uses, is excellent.
However, the customer service has been severely lacking on multiple occasions..

Today I was introduced to the exclusive acne facial at Formula Skin Lab in San Diego near SDSU. Led by the skilled and experienced esthetician, Bella, with a personalized acne facial tailored to target my specific skin concerns. My end goal is achieve clear, radiant skin. Then, she customized a treatment plan designed to combat acne, reduce inflammation, and promote overall skin health. I know it might be along road ahead for me but I appreciate their determination to get me on a clear path. I’ve tried so many different treatments, creams medications, etc. so to pinpoint what the root of the causes along with finding a solution is crucial. I look forward to the bootcamp they offer.Thank you to Stephanie who also made me feel welcomed the moment I walked in, she’s an expert in her field of training and getting your skin back on track.

I'm in town on vacation and my sister recommended this place. I have booked 2 times in 24hrs and both times they canceled last minute completely messing up my plans. I understand if you have personal issues going on but someone needs to update your online scheduling availability so no one else can book a service and then get screwed twice like a did!!! They wont get a chance to redeem themselves with me because I am leaving in 2days. Completely unprofessional!!!

I haven’t had a facial in over a year and decided it was time to get refreshed and renewed and unclog these pores! I was able to make the appt the same day with Nesha. The environment when I walked in had a calming ambiance and I LOVED the playlist. I felt so comfortable and so good afterward. It’s been a few days since I got the signature deep pore cleanser and I can still see and feel the difference in my face. I haven’t had to wear makeup and people literally think I have at least a concealer on. Overall highly recommend.

Do not go here ! I hate to say it as I wanted to try and support their business especially being referred here . My facial left my face burnt and scared over a year and a half later and she continues to avoid being served the pending small claims court case. They offered no solution besides touching my face again, didn't refund me, and worse they don't have mal practice insurance. Horrible and truly unprofessional! I wish negative stars was an option.
