I wish I could leave a better review, but my experience here was very disappointing.

I showed my stylist, Kay, this photo of Goldie Hawn for inspiration. She said my hair wasn’t long enough for that exact look, which I accepted, so I asked for a simple trim on the ends and some long layers. She also pointed out that the front of my hair was slightly longer than the back and offered to even it out while keeping as much length as possible. When I asked how much length off of the front that meant, she showed me about half an inch. That sounded fine to me.

She asked me to remove my glasses for the cut, which is important to note because I can’t see without them. I trusted the initial conversation about length for that reason. But when she paused and asked me to check the progress (while switching out a dull pair of cutting shears for another), I put my glasses back on and was immediately shocked. My hair was much shorter than what we agreed to. When I said so, she told me she had mentioned that layering would make the front shorter — but she never said that during our consultation. If she had, I would have walked away instead of agreeing.

She continued cutting, blow dried my hair, and sent me on my way. The next morning, once the blow dry was gone, I realized my hair was noticeably uneven. I now have to make another appointment at my regular salon to fix it — and until then, I’m stuck going to work with a bad haircut.

Even if the Goldie Hawn style wasn’t possible, all I asked for was a trim and long layers. I truly regret not going to my regular stylist. I thought this would be a straightforward request, but instead I left with hair much shorter than I wanted and cut unevenly.

Edited to add: I also got a brow and lip wax and left with hair on my lip still and wax that was still on my face. At that point I was emotionally done and ready to leave.

This has been my go to salon for years. I love my hair everything I get it done here. They give you a really relaxing hair was and my hair is always very chic when they cut it. I love Hana, she's super sweet and really knows how to cut your hair to really frame your face. Prices are very reasonable and I wouldn't go any where else for my hair.

I went to Plaza Hair Salon and Mai cut and did highlights on my hair. She is very kind and conscientious and did a great job. She made sure I was happy and is willing to do what she can to fix any issues if you have them. She recommended what to do next to save money which is so much appreciated and I never felt taken advantage of. Her salon is very clean with many returning customers. I'm definitely going back!

I have a normal hair salon I’ve been going to for years. Due to a bunch of errors my hair appointment 2 days before my brothers wedding was cancelled without my knowledge. So I called around and I STRUGGLED to find a salon that knew blonde hair and could color- correct the same day (knowing the appointment would be 5-6 hours minimum) luckily this place was open and available so in 10 minutes I was there. I’ve never had a lovelier experience at a hair salon, everyone was nice. I had previous dark purple brown BOX dye on my hair (I know box dye is a sin) it was about 3 months faded but still there.
So when bleaching it it took longer than usual and we ended with a bright orange pink. But it was all toned out and while darker than I initially requested, I’m knowledgeable about hair and knew that just because I wanted a suuuuuper light cool toned blonde, that because I had put dark box dye on my hair that that likely wouldn’t happen. And I didn’t care as long as my hair didn’t turn out orange/yellow or streaky chunky highlights.
While getting my hair bleached my stylist set up a nail appointment for me next door. Just the extra things they do, offered me food and beverages. I think my artist name was Kim!! She did a killer job and I love my end result. The price was similar to nicer salons Around San Diego but it was alllll worth it in the end. I’ve attached a before and after!

Good hair cuts.

I have been going there since 2022 , I have done highlights , root touch ups , trim , blow dry and flat iron for occasions .

My hair fell out 2023 after blonde highlights.

I came back to write this now because I was there for an occasion blow dry and I wanted my hair to look nice . I had an appointment, I went on time . When the lady saw my hair ( below my shoulder ) and curly roots , she said ohhhh curly 65$$ . Then after I washed my hair and sat on her chair and she saw my roots curly , she goes like “ ohhhh”.

She blow dried my hair in 20 minutes ?? , it was sooo bad , I could have done better but I didn’t have time to do it myself .

Then she flat ironed my hair so fast too .
She didn’t care at all how I feel or even smile in my face PRETENDING at least to be nice .

She made me feel like I’m coming from a different world ?

I’m not going there again . And I won’t talk about my experience in November 2022

Hair type: Curly roots , frizzy hair with humid

Mai and her team are the best in color & balayage. She understands the texture and tone of your hair, and just the right amount of bleach. It doesn't fade into a brassy orange, which often happens with dark hair. If it's too light, bring in a toner. I've been going to Mai for more than a year and trust her team.

Mai provided great quality highlights for me. It’s important to find a hair stylist who really cares , and goes above and beyond your expectation. I recommend this business for all your needs who provide quality work!

I was attending a Gatsby party and had worked everything out from the shoes to the dress to the jewelry, hair accessory and nails. What I didn’t realize I forgot to plan was the updo! Eek! I tried a few salons at the last minute on the day of the event and nothing was available until I tried Plaza Hair Salon in RB. They asked me to come back in an hour. I was so fortunate to get Mai to do my hair. She was fabulous! She did a beautiful job on the hairstyle and placement of the hair accessory. Everything stayed secure all night long without looking overly stiff/over-hair-sprayed. And the price was perfect for the amount of time, hair pins, and care she took with making me look Gatsby!! ❤️ I will definitely come back to see Mai anytime I want an updo!
